this drama is about dreams, working life...and determination.... |
| 3. | Comments by -kk- [Rating: ?/10] As this dorama progress, I happen to relate myself with the dorama, so I have became quite fond of Bambino! |

| 5. | Comments by Susan [Rating: 9/10] At first I was annoyed and frustrated with this series. The main character was an idiot and it was so obvious! But as Ban Shogo grew as a person, so did my enjoyment of this series! By the end I was rooting for him. I loved watching the food being made. It was truly a highlight, and I've been inspired in my own cooking. This series is definitely worth sitting through the painful first half to get ot the splendid ending. |
| 6. | Comments by Nermal [Rating: 7/10] Bambino was ok. I wouldn`t say it was a great drama though.
The cast was interesting with a mix of veterans and new comers, and the topic (food) was also interesting to start with but the way the drama unfolded was cliche and too predictable. It would have been 100x better if we could have at least tasted the food I think.
Not bad, but not my favorite either. |
| 7. | Comments by norani [Rating: 10/10] Jun Matsumoto |
| 8. | Comments by carla-chan [Rating: 8/10] Loves Jun in this serie!!!!! *.* |
| 9. | Comments by g_hunter1 [Rating: 7/10] I pretty much enjoyed it but I felt that it was incomplete. I think they showed him too much as a waiter than a cook. If they showed him actually becoming a chef i would have given it an 8. |
| 10. | Comments by atheon [Rating: 8/10] July 2007: I really liked the cast, the veteran ones and Karina~ Plus it's a food drama. However sometimes you just feel like slapping Jun's character. The values behind this drama are something we should learn though, take your job seriously, no matter how ridiculous it can be. |
| 11. | Comments by athida [Rating: 9/10] All the cooking made me crave for pasta every time. It was cute and entertaining. |
| 12. | Comments by donna8157 [Rating: 4/10] This drama was very disappointing. The characters were really overdone and not interesting. In fact, the melodrama in this series were 95% comedic. If you've seen "Hell's Kitchen", then this drama would remind you of that reality TV show except 80% more over the top.
Matsumoto Jun plays Ban Shogo, a person with a raw talent for cooking and who is cocky and proud about it in the beginning. However after working for the restaurant, he realizes how much he has to learn in the business and how inexperienced he really is. Every episode has a scene where he starts crying - and not just a few tears, but a waterfall. It's just painful to watch (not because you feel bad for him) but because it's so frustrating especially since you just saw him cry 10 minutes ago about breaking a plate or getting yelled at by a higher up.
It was mainly because of these "trials" that Ban had to go through that made this show very unpleasant to watch. I had no desire to see what would happen to him and the ending was not fulfilling either. I don't know if I'd recommend this drama to fans of Matsumoto Jun either, it was just that disappointing. The only high point of this drama for me was to see a lot of the dishes being made. They looked delicious. |
| 13. | Comments by jessiesoon [Rating: 9/10] saikou desu!!
i love Italian food! |
| 14. | Comments by natzumi [Rating: 8/10] Watching. So far so good. |
| 15. | Comments by akitsu [Rating: 2/10] It is hard to describe how bored I was. Very very disappointing. |
| 16. | Comments by rikastar [Rating: 7/10] I was afraid of the whole newbie cook plot but it turned out much better than I expected. Watching this makes me crave for some pasta! The characterization is pretty strong, I like most of the people working in the restaurant, like the 'adult' trio, and the regular chefs like Asuka and Oda-san. The thing is, Eri looks so much older than Ban, was that on purpose? o.0 Also, I only realized for the first time that Matsujun's complexion is pretty awful *ducks* |
| 17. | Comments by Lady Zhuge [Rating: ?/10] It's predictable, boring, and too forced. I stopped watching after episode 3. |
| 18. | Comments by dekatrain [Rating: 6/10] Not a bad drama, a little repetitive if anything. Matsumoto does a resonable job with a strong support cast, but what weighs down its respectability is that cliche that if you "believe in yourself, and you can do anything". If those types of dramas put you off, you may want to stay away from this one. But I enjoyed it, if a little weary of the fact that the plot is oh so familiar. Watch it if you're a Matsumoto Jun fan or just love food (like I do). |
| 19. | Comments by mmyy [Rating: 7/10] Great acting by MatsuJun and Sato Ryuta. Storyline's pretty repetitive but nevertheless fun to watch. Will make you crave for Italian food. :) |
| 20. | Comments by Jhvx [Rating: 9/10] a very good cooking dorama!!! The only thing I did not like is that Matsumoto Jun's role was not good enough because I did not like Ban Shogo, haha |
| 21. | Comments by ct_subang [Rating: 5/10] this drama makes me crave for everything pasta...other thn tht...this is an average drama... |

nothing's new
~ great cast~ but the script is very weak~~ it doesn't go anywhere~
I thought it would be good~ |
| 25. | Comments by aoi_dolphine [Rating: 7/10] The food in the drama looks tasty and I love it when they protrayed Jun's character as a trainee. Doing rotational duty in the kitchen. As for romance well... it's not too focus on that either so if it's just for any Jun's fans, you can catch this one. |
| 26. | Comments by sanz [Rating: ?/10] i want to watch this.... |
| 27. | Comments by michiru3 [Rating: ?/10] have, didn't watch yet |

| 29. | Comments by yo-chan [Rating: 3/10] Katori was great and Ban was SO annoying.. I stopped after .. don't know ep 3 or something... for me it was over when he cried over some pasta because it was so delicious... well, sorry Jun but: wtf? |
| 30. | Comments by expanzee [Rating: 8/10] Got a high rating because I like italian food. |
| 31. | Comments by fuuchan525 [Rating: 9/10] Love this drama. I didn't think it would be as captivating as it really is! <3 Matsujun!!!! ^^ <3 |
| 32. | Comments by Swedish_Japan_Lover [Rating: 7/10] ~~ |
| 33. | Comments by pingpiyo [Rating: 7/10] For Matsumoto fans, almost an one-man show. |
| 34. | Comments by moonchyld [Rating: 9/10] I really enjoyed watching this drama. The pace, story and character development were superb. It was really entertaining and interesting! The cast was fantastic, overall it was a really well made drama! |
| 35. | Comments by ginger ale [Rating: ?/10] Currently watching just finished ep.7 the series makes me hungry although i don't really care for pasta. |
| 36. | Comments by adrxuan [Rating: 8/10] this show mks me hungry!!!! |
| 37. | Comments by altec [Rating: 10/10] I'm so happy Jun won an award for his performance. It was a really great show with a great work ethic I can take along with me. :) |
| 38. | Comments by Jellybean66 [Rating: 10/10] I first saw Matsumoto Jun in HYD and at first it was Oguri Shun that caught my eye. By the end of the story, I was smitten with Jun. So, of course I looked to watch every show with him in it.
Bambino! was a great story. Even though it was predictable...even though there was no real love story...I thought Jun did a fantastic acting job starting out as a conceited know-it-all who gets smacked down a couple of levels when he realizes he's not as good as he thought and grows into someone who has the desire to do what he has to do or go where he has to go to become the chef he always dreamed of being.
I would love to see a sequel to this where Bambi comes back after a few years. His ex-fiance; is now living in Tokyo, having been transfered from her job in Hakata and now she is someone else's fiance;...Bambi takes a job as head chef somewhere in Tokyo where she walks in with some co-workers. He begins to remember their dream of opening a restaurant together and decides he will stop at nothing to get her back...*sigh* in the end of course, you see them standing in front of their new restaurant, admiring it. Yeah, that would be great... |
| 39. | Comments by tachan [Rating: 7/10] I thought this was going to be stupid, but it was okay. |
| 40. | Comments by uhno [Rating: 7/10] Matsu Jun <3. Enough with the fan girl-ness. It was an average drama. Nothing extraordinary. Well, maybe the food. Other than that, there wasn't any plot. |
| 41. | Comments by shortmei [Rating: 7/10] Could've been better. Drama had its moments and was overall good. I think the cast was a bit lacking, character development could've been better, but the drama was still enjoyable. |
| 42. | Comments by strawberrynkiwi [Rating: 7/10] It was okay I guess. Didn't really like how Jun smiled every two second or for no reason at all. The food looks really yummy though. |
| 43. | Comments by nishishi [Rating: 6/10] Bambino! is really cool in the beginning but gets really bad at the last episodes.... almost painful to watch!
The casting is OK... some actors plays better than the others... But the 2 actors that really caught my attention were Matsujun and Ryuta Sato... They were outstanding is this dorama...
BtW.. im not sure... but isnt Ikeuchi Hiroyuki in the episode 7???? OMG... i was shocked... hes soooo different!!! But hes still an amazing actor!!!!
Nways... i will give this dorama a 6 out of 10... Afterall i really enjoyed those first episodes.... (oh.. i forgot to mention... this dorama has one of the most predictable endings ever!!!) |
| 44. | Comments by Wesu [Rating: 7/10] Not Jun's best, and I didn't like it in the beginning, but it has a nice atmosphere, and it's a light, easy-to-follow drama. |
| 45. | Comments by Milano [Rating: 7/10] I was just courious to see this because I'm italian, but honestly certain situations seems crazy to me. A bit disappointed, he looks very stupid sometimes. |
| 46. | Comments by mrose [Rating: 8/10] still watching it cant rate it as of the mo' 8 as of the first episode..poor ban chan |
| 47. | Comments by stargirl [Rating: 7/10] It's an okay drama. It made me hungry the entire time though |
| 48. | Comments by v1olet [Rating: 9/10] Cooking with joy and love. The pasta looks so yummy. Subarashi. I love ep. 8 when Bambi at dolce with Oda-san and ep 11 when Everyone is Bambino! |
| 49. | Comments by Kirari Ililah [Rating: 8/10] Typical MatsuJun role. Nothing special, but a bunch of nice comedy too between Hoshan and some of the other characters~ |
| 50. | Comments by aliceeatcow [Rating: 7/10] bambino.. matsujun is certainly a draw ne? i like the cast a lot and i feel like without them, jun really couldn't have pulled this off. his over-acting was grinding my nerves and honestly the series didn't get good til about episode 8. for full review, check out my site: www.clearblogs.com/arashi |
| 51. | Comments by Kitsuchi [Rating: 5/10] I can say that the acting skills was very great and funny. MatsuJun is surely a skilled actor already, that's what I think. And the other roles in the series was also convincing. Some were funny, like Edo-san and Masashi-san(-kun XD). But even though.. the plot wasn't too exciting. It was actually boring at times, because it was this disturbing thing coming up sometimes and then MatsuJun would come and suddenly say, "Yosh! I'll try hard and not lose!" - something like that and everything would go smoothly again. It got tiring after some episodes.. Well, the first few ones when you just need to get into the plot, was funny and interesting. But then you start thinking "Okay.. I got it... give me next, please, and make it done" :/.. It was sad thinking like that because I really like MatsuJun's acting, he's funny and great.. So the reason who kept me watching this series until its ending was all because of MatsuJun. If it wasn't him acting as Bambino, I would probably stop watching or something.. ^_^;. He was all acting happy-go-lucky-easy in this series.
Although I'm complaining, I'm glad I watched it, because I did learn a few things.. I'm not going to write the things up - you have to discover those for yourself ;P. |
| 52. | Comments by inamoto_yoi [Rating: 8/10] i like cooking. |
| 53. | Comments by koneko_pun [Rating: 6/10] I don't think Matsujun fits being nasakenai (pitiful) but you do get to learn a words like Buonissimo! Bambino! |

| 64. | Comments by Patazilla [Rating: 8/10] I wasn't sure what to expect from a dorama which is about cooking, but found it really entertaining to watch all those great characters of Bambino! cook and serve their menus. Extra bonus for Kitamura Kazuki's role! XD Kept me laughing. ^^° |
| 65. | Comments by nurul addina [Rating: 10/10] i love jun very much!!! hehehehe... |
| 66. | Comments by nienna [Rating: 6/10] i think this drama is quite nice but i didn't really like the character matsujun potrayed. i kinda think ban thinks too much. n o wonder his life is so messed up. he thinks of his problems too much till he's getting depressed all the time!!! matsujun's smile is so scary!!! i used to work in the service line and i have seen all types of people but his smile... *shudders* |
| 67. | Comments by Hayato [Rating: 8/10] this drama makes me wanna eat more italian food. ryuta sato looks gorgeous in here. |

| 79. | Comments by marspeach [Rating: 7/10] Watchable show. Cheesy but funny and generally enjoyable. And tasty-looking food too. |
| 80. | Comments by sweet_tapioca [Rating: 7/10] It's not bad, but not great either. Nothing really particular. It's not one of those movies that just hit you because it's so good, or so bad. It's just mediocre. I felt that the parts showing Ban's emotions were way too long. |
| 81. | Comments by JackClark [Rating: 9/10] I like this show a lot. The only problem I have is Jun says sorry at least 15 to 20 times an episode. |
| 82. | Comments by kaily [Rating: 5/10] Good dorama, but sometimes I was bored. And an advice: make a good spagetthi, and then watch it! Or else you'll be very hungry. :) |
| 83. | Comments by Orenjideisu [Rating: 2/10] This was just SO boring ... did'nt even watch it till the end. The plot is just uninspired does only focus on delicious looking food rather than on the characters and their relationships. |
| 84. | Comments by infatuation21 [Rating: 10/10] :3:3:3!~~ |

& those chefs LOL.
im not yet finish BUT its good for me.
The story is becoming interesting!!! :) |
| 88. | Comments by kireiyuhi [Rating: 7/10] As much as I love MatsuJun, this drama wasn't that fun for me. It was actually kind of boring. |
| 89. | Comments by poopiefish [Rating: 3/10] Yet another crappy drama. Expect no surprises from this drama... the storyline is so typical that it hurts. It's your typical "proud guy who's full of himself stumbles over his first obstacle, and loses self-confidence. He gradually realizes "what it means to be a chef" and works hard for his goal... and eventually succeeds" story. It tries really hard to pose as a meaningful drama by having these forced and meaningless "touching dialogs". It could've been a more enjoyable ride if it omitted those scenes...
The pseudo-Italian food was not even appetizing...
I enjoyed watched Jun though, haha. (Hence the rating of 3.) |
| 90. | Comments by DukeGonzalez [Rating: 7/10] i learn a couple of italian words from this drama..
haha.. |
| 91. | Comments by JuLy [Rating: 7/10] Its painful to watch but u must!! u'll find and discover urself quit similar with Ban-chan...like I do, i've got the point that everyone is a Bambino & life is never ending struggling even sometimes we dont know which one is which...we must move on to find out! gaNbaTTe!! \(^o^)/
Jun's acting skill is more...more...more...grown up here!
PS: the desert is Sugoi!! slurp...nyam...yummy... |
