The ending of Mison Ikkoku TV live action made it seem like they are going to make more. I didn't read the manga or watch the anime. Can anyone tell me if this is how the manga and anime ended?

Considering its a one time special what were you people expecting exactly? (The ones who gave it a bad score) This was really made just to show appreciation for the anime/manga which was like 96 episodes long. They covered it the first part in the best way possible. Anyone who really knows the story should know that it shines from the middle-end. With the introduction sequence it wasnt meant to hook people. Misaki Ito fans are watching this for the wrong reason.

As expected! Who in their right mind would make a one time special of Maison Ikkoku which covers just the first part of a 96 part episode anime? So for people who think this is a one time movie special, you're wrong. For those who stuck by it and thinking there were more to come, you are right and you're wait will be over come summer time.

I'm a HUGE fan of Maison Ikkoku, and I thought this Drama was the best showcase for the anime and manga.

Misaki really shouldn't be taking roles like these any more. Her role seemed so boring and fake here that even as her fan I almost couldn't bear to watch.

Never watched the anime so I can't really compare, but the abrupt ending seems kind of strange, even for a short one episode show.

BTW, don't know about the Japanese word, but I think the first word of the title should be "maison"... as in "house" in french.

I prefer the manga but it was good.

Nice adapation from the manga, esepcially the set! The only thing I don't exactly like about this drama is 響子. I guess Itoh just overacted this role a little bit.

?!?!?!?! Was it supposed to be funny??? I didnt enjoy it at all... it almost looks like those Morning Musume's sketchs... without the Morning Musume girls... (so its not worth it...)
I dunno... i didnt like the casting neither... im not saying the actors r bad... but they didnt have anu chemistry at all....
Mison (Maison) ikkoku is just BLEH...

OMG ... Boringness cannot explain this SP. I heard the anime was a succes, so I thought I'd try it. Itoh Misaki should stop taking roles like this. Never finished it. I cry tears of sleepiness.

I've watched the anime version and read the manga version and was skeptical of some of the cast but this is about as true to the source material as they can get with live action. It's excellent.

Sweet, but a lil boring.

Tries to be funny but fails at it.

I found it too artificial. They tried to copy the anime too much. Of course there is a lot more to the story but i dont think they are going to do a sequel to it. some good points, for instance i liked the actors for Yotsuya-san, Akemi-san and Ichinose-san. I was not really happy with both Itoh Misaki and Nakabayashi Taiki. The manga and anime are fabulous. I love them. I am little disapointed.

I’ve watched the anime version of this special a couple of years ago but the memory of it is still fresh on my mind. It was really hard to squeeze the entire story in just one special but they covered some of the important scenes such as when Godai shouted ‘Suki da’ to Kyoko when he came home drunk one night. I don’t know if they will do a follow-up after this one but hopefully they will.

It was ok, I cannot say that I did not enjoy it, it was just ok. It gets a 6 simply because there needs to be more, not just one episode!
