So for some reason I love stories set in Manchuria, and can't help but watch any drama like this. Even more so when it's an epic story of the success and destruction of people's lives amidst war, filled with romance and affairs. This is the perfect mix of things for me to love in a drama.
Sadly they seem to try really hard to make me not love it. This has quite possibly the worst acting I have ever seen. Also, like other dramas about Manchuria, it drags on longer than it should. The second half is kind of boring. And while it may seem trivial, there's nothing I hate more than when they start putting old-people make-up on actors and having them speak in stupid fake old-people voices.
But in spite of its many problems, I still love it. |
