Quite a good show.... and OMG!! They did what i never expected to watch in a school dorama.. that was pretty nice!
The casting was so-so... (im not a big fan of Oda Yuji) but 2 actors really steals the show... Gaku~kun and Yoshitaka Yuriko. Hope to see Yoshitaka in a main role in the future (since its almost impossible for Gaku...)
The plot is the same as another school doramas (teacher help students stuff) and it was pretty interesting. I would say that Taiyo to Umi has nothing to do with Gokusen or GTO... more like the total opposite of Dragon Zakura..... Nways.. a good dorama.. thumbs up! |

Covering the usual topics. Oda Yuji & cast go through the motions and play their parts well enough. A smile here, touching moment there. No real lol moments but it doesn't get dull as it moves fairly quickly. Some episodes better than others. 3rd episode was touching. End of 6th moves into more serious issue. Episode 9 sad&touching. Final episode was weak. It's a hint of GTO but nowhere near the emotion. Oda Yuji's character is good but dry. |

Only seen one episode so far and I found all the characters to be very unlikable. The story and many of the characters are also completely unbelievable. I'd give examples but I don't want to spoil, let's just say the rival in ep 1 was very poorly exaggerated. Maybe I'll get back to it later on but likely not. |

Has some compelling moments, the music works really great at all times, the beach scenery is very pleasant to the eye. It's just at I feel that the almighty teacher theme is way overused. I enjoyed it, the later episodes improve the overall impression of the series. |

another boring high school drama whit nothing special in it. GTO in worse in fact except that kitagawa keiko is 183839393 times prettier than natsushima!i never take care about the music inside movies or drama but the music in this one is sheet. nothing fits. |

Yeah man! After you watched this, you think right NOW you should go out and live your life right! Excellent (for this dorama type mandatory) "ending lecture". Main Actress exactly my type ;) But unfortunately a slow, repetitive start. |
