Synopsis
Based on a hit manga, this adaptation depicts the life of a married man Nanase Kohei after he returned to his former job as a male host. He woos the clients with his gentle and caring nature, and soon retrieves his former credit as the ace of the club. However, the transition back for this middle-aged man is not without its challenges. Afraid that his wife will find out about this job, Nanase is also garnering jealousy and displeasure from the younger hosts. Throughout the course of his employment, he demonstrates to others that hosting should not be the vulgar occupation it has become where the entire goal is to make the women frivolously spend money, rather, it is about a human connection that is so often overlooked.

1. All too predictable [Rating: 6/10]
Sasaki Kuranosuke's character gets laid off work so he goes off back to work as a host but he keeps this secret from his wife Hara Sachie. Of course the current young bloods don't accept him but he earns their trust and fights to protect the club. But you know exactly whats going to happen , his wife will of course find out ....domestic trouble ensues and then there will be loads scenes where he has to bow his head down to plea and get humiliated. Its not a bad drama but its all too predictable. Its a pity as Sasaki Kuranosuke and Maya Miki are really good actors but its not a great vehicle to show case their acting skills.

2. Its ok [Rating: 5/10]
Its not that great, but its watchable. Since its only 8 episodes, the story feels a little rushed in the first few episodes. Plot? At first, the main character isn't accepted by the younger guys, he starts helping people in every episode, he gets accepted, trouble comes along, younger guys start supporting him.....sounds familiar? Basically, nothing special about this drama, but if you'd like a little more insight into the world of hosts, go ahead and watch it.

I'm starting to really hate dramas with teachers or senpais who try to reform their students/kouhais.
Let's face it: It's unlikely that hosts start their jobs to make their female customers happy. The whole business just isn't like that. No, the world isn't like that.
Okay, dramas aren't about realism but in this case I just found it too much.

Well, apart from that... The drama is nice for the eye-candy.

It was an alright drama overall, although perhaps I'm not one for formulaic, reform-type dramas. Like Gokusen, Kohei reforms someone in every episode, mostly the other hosts at the bar. Almost the entire time he has that big, dumb smile on his face so it gets a bit annoying, but his role was well-acted by Sasaki Kuranosuke. Nothing to write home about, but if you like pretty boys this is the drama for you!

I enjoyed the drama. It gets a little crazy and surreal at times but the drama also depicts of human relationship. Hmm... Not my type of drama that I will go after but nonetheless, it was very educating. Especially about the world of hosts. Makes me wonder whether such a host actually exists even though my common sense tells me it doesn't.

4 because i kinda liked first episode... as some of the other users said, i hate dramas when teachers/senpais tries to reform other people... c'mon, they are hosts, not criminals!!!

Not very deep story and nothing extraordinary, but still fun to watch. Since I like the actor of the main character it was nice to watch, although he played cooler roles before .;D

Great drama from start to finish, with very few dull moments. Good acting from all parts and the storyline is both original and classic at the same time. Very good!

This is kind of one of those "eye-candy" types of shows. Not bad but, you can live without seeing it.
