Synopsis

After living together in Hokkaido for around a year, Takumi and Aya return to Tokyo to attend Sonoko's wedding. Knowing that Aya still couldn't forget Shuichi, Takumi decides to give way and let Aya return to Hokkaido with his brother. Just when they are flying off, Takumi has an accident and his legs could no longer move. Feeling that Takumi has always being very good to her, Aya chooses to live with him, and painfully breaks off with Shuichi. She takes up two jobs to uphold the home, but the depressed Takumi starts thinking Aya as pitying him after some talks of others, and bangs all his anger on her.

1.	Quite slow & Sad [Rating: 5/10] Only for Yutaka's fans. Quite weepy and draggy. Get to learn some sign language but other than that...not worth it.

2.	Must see!!! [Rating: 10/10] Great cast chemistry and great performances. That why this series became a classic. You will stay till the end. This series is darker than the first one. Takenouchi Yutaka's is just amazing. This really show the actor's (ALL of them) abiliies!! A must see.

3.	Not what I expected [Rating: 6/10] I just didn't think the story was believable enough. Sure the acting was good but the story wasn't. Too many unrealistic things happening. The only reason why I kept watching till the end was to put closure to the story. I was so disappointed after watching this since I gave the original series 10 stars. I think they tried too hard to live up the first drama.

4.	fantastic acting, too happening... [Rating: 9/10] I don't find the story slow, i find it too happening. The ending is not logical, suichi could have saved himself instead of rushing to the church. Aya was obviously willing to be with takumi again since she is willing to choose the rose again, but why did takumi let her go? But I love takumi, his love for her was so strong and his acting so touching that he made me cry a few times. I love Aya too. Suichi is not bad too but still, luckily it's not takumi who died. I told myself i would stop watching if Takumi had drowned in that scene. That was the most touching scene, Takumi wanted to sacrifice his life to save Aya on the boat, and he actually stood up.

5.	An Unfortunate but Good Ending [Rating: 9/10] It was just sad when Yutaka let Noriko go knowing he loved her so much. But that just made the entire drama very memorable

6.	Horrible Melodrama [Rating: 3/10] They threw everything into this one, everything but the kitchen sink. The twists are illogical and really ruined it for me. It's really a lesson in how not to do a drama sequel, they turned it into a soap opera.

7.	Silent threats [Rating: 8/10] SO having seen "Hoshi no Kinka 1" l rented the sequel. Boy oh boy, was l flabbergasted by this sequel! This is such a dark, gloomy and doomed sequel! Poor Aya, the emotional roller coaster ride of her suffering, grief, anguish and her patience towards the irascible Takumi, one just can't help but to sympathise her situation. Especially having to hold back her profound love for Shuichi was shockingly sad for me to watch! Shuichi's character won my brownie points; his love, affection, fondness, tenderness, selflessness, devotion and warmth towards Aya is so intoxicating and admirable! The love he has for Aya is beyond words and is captured beautifully in this sequel! l was forever determined to finish the drama, despite having mixed emotions about the complexity of their relationships. I was also quite disturbed about Aya and Takumi's tragic mishaps. To draw MORE blood and dispirit the audience, the ending really dashed my hopes of the long awaited 'raining star' experience for Aya and Shuichi! The sequel really put an end to the drama, completely; killing the main lead which did serve their purpose of making it a classic, melancholy drama of all time. So if you are feeling the lows, skip this sequel!

8.	A Satisfying End to a Frustrating Series [Rating: 6/10] Continuing the excruciating melodrama of the first season, Heaven's Coins 2 delivers more unbelievably frustrating situations, but to its credit completes the series in a very fitting end and is, in a masochistic way, satisfying. I was hoping this time around the drama would recover from its predecessor, and it does, but only at the last episode. This means you need to go through another entire season of false love, real love, and misguided love (that still does not make sense). However, whereas the first season had no logical basis for most of the characters to fall in love, this season at least has the first season to go off of. While this can mean the lack of logic carries over, at least this time around we know what we're getting into. That's not a good thing to say, but it's the best one can make of it. An example of this continuance of a lack of a basis, Mai Hosho's character has no real reason to love Shuichi. She recovers from this only slightly by much later admitting that she had no chance. Shuchi's real brother is much like Shoko, having no real reason to be as evil as his character was made to be. Takumi's mother had a fitting story, and I believe the writing for her and her performance was a dramatic improvement for her character. And Takumi, who I felt was the best character in the first season, continues to be the best one in this series in terms of writing and performance. While the writing for Miwa Koizumi wasn't that great (again), I felt Tanaka-san's performance was strong. As for Aya, I think Sakai's performance was good, but the writing for her character faultered and her performanced adjusted accordingly. Osawa-san was pretty much the same as before and while the character of Shuichi didn't develop much, it did moreso than the first season. Unfortunately I cannot write much for this review as most of it would require I mention a ton of spoilers, a practice I am completely against. To continue my Bubble Bobble metaphor from my previous review, I will say that I was just as frustrated as I was watching the first season; however, the ending was much better than the previous finale. Not only was it fitting, but it completed the story lines of every character and explored each in satisfying detail. I rated this two points more than the previous season for the ending, and for the fact that while it is an incredibly frustrating show in terms of writing, it still manages to be memorable.

It is weepy and often dosen't make anysense. Like suichi being stabed at a hospital (by his half brother who is supposed to have drowned) Yet he goes away from the hospital to bleed to dead in a cab and arrive to die in aya's arms. Ridiculous if you ask me. A waste of time to watch. Let me pretend it was not made!!!

Comments by donna8157 [Rating: 7/10] Even after reading all the bad reviews, I still watched this out of curiosity because I really adore both Takenouchi Yutaka's character (Takumi) and Noriko Sakai's character (Aya). But just as the reviews have said time and time again, this drama was very poorly done plot-wise. I don't think it goes very well as a sequel because the conclusion of the first one loses meaning when watching this one. I didn't enjoy most of the story elements that were put in for the characters to face. It just seemed overly driven to making this drama a massive tearjerker, however because the scenes were so contrived the story wasn't as touching. It made the drama seem unrealistic and at parts, laughable because of the sheer ridiculousness. The new doctor played by Sawamura Ikki just seemed to come from out of the blue. The antagonist that he played was just too extreme. But he does do a good job of it. However, Takenouchi Yutaka really shines as he played the tormented Takumi. Even with all the bad plot elements, this drama is worth watching if you're a fan of his.

Not to be outdone by the wild array of soap opera-like action in the first season, the writers go to extreme measures to include every drama tactic, both imaginable and unimaginable, to keep the viewers on their seats in pursuit of the ultimate question - will Aya and Shuichi be together forever. The answer is quite clear in the end ... but not before viewers experience more plot twists than a Greek tragedy! Noriko Sakai alone is my justification for giving this one 8/10 as I was not impressed by the overboard scripts of the writers of this show. For those of you who can't get enough, hunt down the Heaven's Coins Finale program which recaps both seasons between segments focusing on the aftermath of everything. Bottom line - the Heaven's Coins trilogy made Noriko Sakai my favorite J-dorama artist!

Yutaka (Takumi) here, from a playboy in 1st part becomes a devoted romantic lover of Aya (Noriko) in this 2nd part. This drama can really makes you believe that true love really exists and show you how much love can really change a person.

I can't really separate Heaven's Coins 1 from Heaven's Coins 2, unlike some or most of jdorama members here. In my mind, they are one and the same. Loved Aya's cute handwriting. Love how Takumi and Shuichi use sign language. Love how protective Takumi is of Aya. Frustrated, though with Shuichi's indecisiveness. What else? Loved Takumi laughing AND crying at the same time. Loved the parting scenes at the airport.

8.	Lisachan Once I started to play, I could not stop watching this drama until the end, the 12th episode. Noriko Sakai, Takao Osawa, and Utaka Takenouch were very good. This drama was the best I have ever seen.
