| Synopsis |

It may seem like most of us in modern society live the ordinary life: wishing for the happiness of self, family, and loved ones. Some, however, live an unimaginable life, with a past that could only be understood by few, and carry a fate so vast upon them.
"Breathless Summer" picks up on a rather rare social situation where a girl grows up without a family register. In other words, without citizenship to her own country. As she uncovers the truth about her identity, she comes across an older man, most likely as old as her father, with a scarred heart. Amidst crossing paths and being torn apart from their surroundings, the two become inseparable to each other, what becomes a shocking but bittersweet summer love story. | | Fuji TV |

It's definitely a light plot, which could be considered boring, but I appreciate classier stories that don't need to use extremes to be interesting.
The only aspect where I feel they should have turned up the heaviness is in the very awkward and vague romance like thing they have going here. I in no way expected this to actually develop into a real love story, but I think they could have at least toyed with it a bit more. It's like there's no chemistry between the main stars, like there's no sign that there would be any feelings either way, but then the girl is crying in a corner every now and then. It's a little underwhelming, but at the same time it is also a part of the relaxed feeling of this drama that I enjoyed. | | 2. | Comments by sasukekun6 [Rating: 7/10] Casting was pretty good, but not entirely my type of drama. A bit too much of an emotional roller coaster. I must say the subject matter was interesting to me. I'd never seen a drama with something similar to the whole "I don't have a family register!!!" before. Man Japanese's register system is crazy. | | 3. | Comments by zenith777 [Rating: 7/10] In the beginning, the story is very attractive and unique. There are lots of hidden truths, but after some few episodes and the truths revealed too fast, so that the drama lost its charm and flow of story become unclear. | | 4. | Comments by iluvasiandrama [Rating: ?/10] Only on ep 3 but it seems to be okay bit draggy | | 5. | Comments by Doramako [Rating: ?/10]
