| Synopsis |

Shinji (Toyokawa) was an impoverished taxi-driver with an inferior complexity, who seriously injured his former classmate Tsuzuki Yuichiro (Ishiguro) after Yuichiro repeatedly poked fun at his present plight, since Shinji was an outstanding student in the past. Shinji, thinking Yuichiro dead, dressed in his clothes and impostered him as successor to a supermarket chain Miyakoya, since nobody had seen Yuichiro for 19 years. However, hot on his heels were a policewoman Yukiko (Fujiwara) and her reporter boyfriend. In the meanwhile, Shinji had to face threats from Yuichiro's stepmother who discovered he was fake, and also to convince everyone else of his abilities while committing more crimes in order to cover his crimes. | | Le Chateau de Jo |

Despite the fact that Toykawa Etsushi is the lead in this drama, it fell WAY short. Sometimes it doesn't matter how good the actor is if the storyline bites. A rather odd tale where Etsushi is a taxi driver who ends up killing (so he believes) an ex-classmate of his and impersonates him as a new supermarket chain owner. Highly entertaining and intelligent. Toyokawa's superb performance is more and more fascinating to watch as the story develops. Not much to say about Fujiwara here. I guess her acting here can be rated as moderate, that's all. But the whole drama is worth watching because of the gripping thriller atmosphere it exudes. This is a good drama about a taxi driver had taken a high school friend's identity and events developed thereafter. Fukiwara performance was good.
