1. See this one [Rating: 8/10]
Excellent story line, full of funny situations between the mother and new wife, living upstairs. Sano Shiro is in this also and for some reason not listed here..one of his more menorable performances to me...and a crack-up as always. This one is a must-see!!

2. Familiar and fun [Rating: 8/10]
Double Kitchen does everything right in its own modest way - the uniquely Japanese story of newlyweds who take the top floor of the family house - and everyone adds to the comic melee. It's been done before, but all the characters are vivid, and the situations nearly always amusing. Versatile Yoko Nogiwa excels as the mother-in-law, while Tomoko Yamaguchi always has a lively, beatiful presence. Familiar? Yes, but it works.

3. One of the best family dramas [Rating: 8/10]
Aside from the type of family dramas based around the parents and their relationships with their children (Oyaji, Otousan, Brother Beat), this type of dorama addresses the common issues faced between daughter-in-laws and mother-in-laws. Toss in Yamaguchi Tomoko and Nogiwa Yoko into the mix and you've got an entertaining drama that has a life of its own. Great comedic and heartwarming moments!

EXTREMELY FUNNY. I think you have to have a bit of understanding of the Japanese culture and society to find this hilarious, but maybe even without, it's pretty damn amusing. This was probably one of my favourite roles for Yamaguchi Tomoko and Nogiwa Youko. XD

The war between the Mother-in -Law and the Daughter-in- Law. Very funny show. Yamaguchi can make even the thinnest of scripts work.

i bought this drama after i've watched "Long Vacation" .. and liked Yamaguchi Tomoko a lot ~ lolx ~ this drama is the typical drama on mother-in-law & daughter-in-law whom can't get along with each other ~ and the poor son/husband suffers .. haha .. heartwarming and hilarious at parts ~

This is a great drama. All the actors and actresses play their roles so well, it's amazing. It is fun and entertaining to watch, and I think asian people will relate well to the situations.

Watch this one, just regret it later.

This story takes a very realistic and likely, common, situation and makes a wonderful heartwarming drama out of it. Yamaguchi Tomoko and Nogiwa Yoko seem almost destined for these roles - they are cast so well. Ito Shiro was commendable too as the father of the household, playing his role quite well, providing some added comedy to the series. Recommended for those who love family dramas.

Ordinary Drama, boring. Mother-in-law actress acted very well.

I'm not a big sitcom fan but I love Nogiwa Yoko so I enjoyed this little ditty of a show. It sometimes went over the top but had its sweet moments too.

I hated Yamaguchi Tomoko in Long Vacation. ( I hated ). But I discovered a very funny Tomoko here as the revolutionary and emancipated woman among a very traditional japanese family. If you don't know much about japanese culture or everyday life family you'll learn much enjoying this sarcastic dorama! Funny!!

Yamaguichi Tomoko's earlier film before Long Vacation....She's one of my favorites...Does a great job in this drama...unfortunately her surpporting cast are not that loveable..but dispite that she still does an outstanding job.....

Actually the drama (plot) is just a little above average. The fun comes in watching 2 pros (Tomoko Yamaguchi and Yoko Nogiwa) at their best. Also honorable mention to Shiro Ito, his deadpan delivery gave me some of the biggest laughs.
