A very bloody movie about kids fighting each other to survive. Can you kill your best friend? This issue is brought up in this movie as instinct takes over. This movie is almost like Lord of the Flies in a way. This is one of my most favorite movies of all time. I won't let my crush on Sayaka Kamiya (Satomi Noda in the movie) make me biased in my opinion however... (^_^);
If you can handle blood then you should be fine. This movie isn't just bloody for the sake of being bloody though, it also has an underlying message to it that you'll have to find out for yourself. |

I absolutely lurvvvve this film its not as good as the books I got to say but its a good way of portraying the book without all the extra bits that are in the book. I would definatly recommend this 2 ova people.
WHAT IT’S ABOUT:
its about a class of students in Japan who are chosen for the programme 'Battle Royal' the programme is a game broadcasted on TV everywhere in which the students have to kill each other within 3 days. There is no escape as they have these metal necklaces which explode if the students go somewhere they are not supposed to (danger zone) or if they do something they aren’t supposed to. There is only one winner, and if more re left everyone dies. The main character Shuya Nanahara is someone who doesn’t want to play and gets on with basically everyone, he and a few other people refuse to play but they find it very difficult with kazuo kiriyama and souma mitsuko who intend to win at any cost. To see what happens to the students watch this excellent film or read the books either way it’s wicked!! |

It's become such a cult classic due to the controversial and outlandish subject matter and the fact that Beat Takeshi is part of it. However, I just found this movie to be rather ridiculous and the grotesque violence was sometimes too difficult to watch because of the overly farfetched and unrealistic ordeal. However, I do credit the movie for its portrayal of the human complex when put into this type of situation - rather, killing in general. |

Because it's so bloody original I gave it a 10. Comparable to the Reality TV show full of violence On top of it I saw lots of strong casting here. Most of them has already strike a name for themselves in the industry. Like Shibasaki Kou, Tsukamoto Takashi, Takaoka Sousuke, Fujiwara Tatsuya, jst to name a few. |
