This series is back in its 25th year with the 7th and latest series. The "Students" have been picked from the customary audition. This time, however, the production staff dispensed with a review of written applications and instead met each of the 1,294 hopefuls to pick the new class of 30.
What concerns and problems with this new class confront their teacher, Kimpachi Sakamoto (Tetsuya Takeda), with? Yet again, through the days and months of the year, we will learn lessons which money can't buy.
Story
In the previous series, Kimpachi was in heated disagreement with Principal Chida over teaching methods. So much so that he was ordered off the Board of Education. But he is back teaching at Sakura Middle School. Recently there has been a spate of young crime. Even Sakura Middle School has to deal with new problems like drugs and sexually transmitted diseases.
Before the beginning of the series, Tetsuya Takeda wrote the following.
"In these times, I think it's important to discover and develop who you are as a person. I have come to think this over the many years I have known Kimpachi. I have asked myself what is the most important thing you can do in your life? I have come to the conclusion that, in the everyday interactions of life, it's working out what sort of person you want to become. Lately, as I see all the stories about child crime in the news, I think that these children have become obsessed with the Internet and are too busy to be kids messing about with their friends to really come to be confronted with and understand who they are as people. Time alone is vitally important, as it is during such times that you can take a good long look at yourself. In times past, you could see all the bad things about life in the delinquent children. But I think nowadays, it is in the children in whom such great expectation is placed that you see the bad side of society.
Being 15 years old is no longer a carefree time."
Kimpachi returns to a school system in tumult. What problems will he confront and what message will he have for us? Keep and eye on Senior Class B over the next 6 months. | | TBS |

| | 1. | Dark, Yet the Greatest I've Seen... [Rating: 10/10] I LOVED this drama, at every dramatic scene, I was either compelled to know what would happen next, or in great sorrow over the characters suffereing or tremendous joy...
Yaotome portrayed his character with such acuracy, I would believe it was real...Ayukawa played his characrter well too, so far, all the Johnny's Jr. I have witnessed in dramas have expressed their characters perfectly, but not only did the Ya-Ya-Yah members play theit characters right, but so did the other students and cast. Such great chemistry between every role, I wish it wouldn't end...
This drama is very dark, but pulls the audience into further anticipation, and I feel that someone can relate to this drama in real life. The ending was SPECTACULAR, it seemed predictable, but it totally threw me off!!
I can't believe that this might be the LAST Kinpachi series, it's so great, but times pass...I wish they could have some sort of reunion of the Kinpachi series....see the cast and the students....heh Kato Shigeaki was so adorable in the 6th series, which I didn't get to watch...>< | | Reviewed by Kirari Ililah on 19 April 2005 | | 2. | Go Kinpachi!!!!! [Rating: 9/10] The 7th season of this drama truly fares no less than its 6th season predecessor. The great choice in casting and strong acting performances bring the story to life and takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride throughout. The drugs theme of this season was well explored in this series although there were one or two minor stories that were not as well developed as the main storyline. Yaotome was an exceptional Maruyama Shu and Hamada played Shintaro very well. I certainly hope the 8th season lives up to this very high standard set by the 6th and 7th seasons. | | Reviewed by Shindou on 14 July 2008 | | 3. | More Kinpachi! [Rating: 9/10] Oh I don't want this to be the final season. I love this drama and this season was no exception. | | Reviewed by MonsterZero-65 on 27 October 2009 |

| | 1. | Comments by shozen [Rating: 10/10] currently watching it. i like it since i get to see kita- senju from another country. im wonder what crazy struggle kimpachi and his students are gonnas go through this time. cuz last season was freakin intense. series 5 too. | | 2. | Comments by natzumi [Rating: 8/10] A story about a high school teacher called Kinpachi and his students. This drama shows the dark side of high school life and it can be depressing and violent at times.
Rated 8 because I was impressed with Hikaru's excellent perforance. | | 3. | Comments by momo_chan [Rating: 10/10] OMG!!!!! THE LAST PART WUZ SOOO SAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | 4. | Comments by Kirari Ililah [Rating: 10/10] This was such a THRILL to watch, every step of the story lead me into further anticipation. I think this one might be more darker than the other series, but I have not seen the other series, wish I could...
Yaotome (Ya-Ya-Yah) ia such a great actor in this one, many of the Johnny's Jr. talents are...Ayukawa as well, played his character flawlessly, although I was distraught on one desperate move the character made in the middle of the story...I was so OVERWHELMED with FEAR...this story grabs you into the issue.
Not only did the Johnny's portray their characters well, the other students too, all had some part in the series...
GREATEST DRAMA!!! | | 5. | Comments by thetenken [Rating: 6/10] Students weren't as compelling as in Season 6. | | 6. | Comments by rikastar [Rating: 7/10] The main theme of series 7 would be drugs, the most complex one being how the life of one of the students, Shu, is ruined because of it. The ending reminded me again that this is really a realistic drama meant to teach. I was impressed by Yaotome Hikaru's acting in here, he's quite natural and expressive. Ayukawa Taiyou, not so much, he's still a bit stiff XD Other students that left an impression on me are adorable Yayoi, hyper Masato, the 'Shachou' and crazy Shintaro. | | 7. | Comments by OSMIR [Rating: 4/10] I like because of Yax3 LOL .......actually, when I watched it, I didn't understand this content because its subtitle's Japanese >_< | | 8. | Comments by Di@na [Rating: 5/10] Ya-ya-yah boys acted very well ..but I think in Kinpashi sensei 6 the actors played beter ( like Aya Ueto and Kato-kun)..I hope it's not the last Kinpashi Sensei >< | | 9. | Comments by Shindou [Rating: 9/10] Another spectacular Kinpachi Sensei series! Similar to the 6th series, the casting and acting is so heartwarming one can't help but be moved by the extraordinary acting/storytelling by the characters. Kinpachi Sensei really hasn't lost any of its lustre when compared to the 6th season. Yaotome should be commended for an exceptional performance as Maruyama Shu. | | 10. | Comments by pinkokoro [Rating: ?/10] COMPLETE. RAW. INCOMPLETE. HS | | 11. | Comments by oldasianguy [Rating: 10/10] April 2008...I finally watched my 1st Kinpachi Sensei drama and I was completely fooled...I've always shied away from these series because I had always thought that they would be wishy washy and not be really realistic...I was so wrong!!!....This series brought me on a emotional high and a sense of fullfillment in terms of entertainment.......Through all the sadness and joy was the meaning of life...... The cast was spectacular...even the Kinpachi Sensei charaacter...who knows it all had human weakness aand therefore likeable...I gave this series a big 10!!!!!! |
