1. Too bad [Rating: 3/10]
Horrible. Producers apparently think the audience will buy ANYTHING as long as there's a couple of famous names, but they're wrong.
The plot is completely ridiculous: at first the penniless heroine has to earn her living by playing violin in a restaurant, and on the next day - ta-da! - she decides she doesn't want to do it anymore and opens up her restaurant. No one is even surprised.
The relatives of the main character (the undercover cop, top secret and stuff) go searching for him in Tokyo without having a clue where he might be, and guess what? They find him on the very same day.
Etc., etc., etc.
And you CAN'T play the same music EVERY TIME the villain appears on screen! I mean, it's great when characters have their own musical themes, but it doesn't have to be played every time we see their face, especially during one single scene! It doesn't add to the suspense, it's just plain ridiculous.
What a waste of fine actors.

2. BREATH TAKING, Then a Let Down..... [Rating: 8/10]
I LOVED this drama, "past tense", because it was so breath taking at every step, the plot was not predictable, and all the action was AMAZING, I was so taken in the moment that I never wanted the drama to end.
Every actor was PERFECT, and Mokomichi was AWESOME! However, the ending totally bit that link of thrilling. Everything started to become more predictable after almost everyone started to die. I wanted all that drama to keep going, and I loved how the love connection between Nishijima and Chie didn't become so gushy, it was a great story! I just wish the ending was changed...
I definetly recommend anyone watch this, it's SO heart throbbing!!!

3. Very good storyline [Rating: 9/10]
This one reminded me a bit of "Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi / One Million Stars Falling from the Sky" in that the leading couple is absolutely great and the story is a real and serious story that goes along all the episodes. It is not just a repetition of a situation with funny moments at each episode, it unfolds little by little, with twists here and there.
The Korean actress Choi Ji Woo was very good in this difficult role, portraying a complex character without overacting.
I recommend it for everyone, as it has a lot of everything - romance, funny moments, suspense, great acting, and a great story.

I read some comments that people didn't like the ending. They must have missed the very end when the show runs through the subtitles... because based on some comments the ending was pretty good!

I have mixed feelings for this; I haven't watched many of japan's police dramas and this was one of them. I can't say I was very impressed, the story actually made me wonder whether they made it up along the way, even though several twists here and there did make it a lot better since most were unexpected. For a japanese drama, the pacing was a lot slower and more draggy than others, Korean influence? maybe. It gave me the tendancy to fast forward from time to time. Actors were ok, just had the feeling they could do better. The score was great though, very dramatic orchestral feel, with the wonderful theme song 'I believe', which is probably one of the best theme song I have heard in jdramas. Overall an okay watch, not the best that I have seen though.

Amazing action packed drama with love thrown in as a sweetener. Intense acting . Captivating plot with a twist. Gangsters and computer programming don't seem to go together so it was a surprise that it worked. Understated acting by Takehanouchi Yutaka as the police detective Nishikima Shou, loved him. Hayami Mokomichi was eye candy even as the sinister playboy fun loving yakuza heir. Choi Ji woo as usual was her beautiful self but seemed lost in Tokyo.Would have liked less of the tear jerker stuff and more of the action. Must have borrowed from the Hongkong hit movie Infernal affair in some of the sub-plots. Had slow moments though at the beginning and towards the end.
3. Comments by moonchyld [Rating: 7/10]
hmmm what can i say.. it started out promising to be a well-thought of, mind-boggling and action-packed drama that had a twist of love in it... yet it was nothing of the above. action scenes were slow and boring, the drama part was cheesy, and worse of all, the story was poorly conceived and too predictable. it had a good start, which was one of the reasons why i kept watching (hoping that i'd eventually find something deep)..but by the end i realized this was just a waste of my time. one thing i realized after watching koori no sekai and this is that japanese aren't very good at writing suspense stories. =_=||
4. Comments by nadrika [Rating: 9/10]
Loved this drama very much for the suspense, twist and turns. Each episode was well-executed on its own. But when you put all 11 episodes together, loopholes start to appear. RONDO was shot like a movie. I felt like i was watching a, let's see, 9-hr movie? This drama deserves, at best, an 8 but the thing i like MOST about RONDO is the soundtrack and also the two theme songs. Excellent! Never before have i taken an interest in drama soundtracks. So an extra point for the music scores in this drama.
5. Comments by Jeanxi [Rating: 5/10]
Much worse than I thought. There are some unpredictable/intriguing parts that makes you want to keep watching to see what happens, but usually that only happens towards the end of an episode. I watched all the episodes on d-addicts that have hardsubs but decided to not buy the drama even tho not all episodes are online b/c it's not good enough for me to want to buy it. Definitely not one of Takenouchi Yutaka's good performances, and I'm sick of Choi Ji Woo's "I'm shocked and sad" face....ugh >.<

WOW! Watching this series in 2 days. This kind of drama always got me hooked till the end.It make me remember about Love 2000 but with a different ending.About Rondo, I think Yutaka is the coolest actor in jdorama world not kimura takuya or kaneshiro takeshi but these 3 men always be my fav actor.I don't really like Choi Ji Woo but it's ok bc I still can enjoy the series. The theme song and the insert song are so great and fit the mood of the whole drama. Two thumbs up.
7. Comments by rikastar [Rating: 6/10]
I thought I was watching a movie at first - the filming style is very different. Pretty stylish though. The plot can be confusing sometimes, making me go wtf. I'm not really into such stories so it felt draggy towards the end when it gets drama-mama. The main actors/actresses are such eyecandy though. Choi Ji Woo looks very pretty (unlike in that Winter Sonata >_<) and Mocomichi as the badboy son turned against his father was hot. XD
8. Comments by Oba-chan [Rating: 6/10]
Probably the worst suspense drama i've ever seen. Even Takenouchi and that korean actrees can not save this drama. I think i prefer they make a pure love story for both of them, not this weird suspense drama. The twists are Random (Its random, they just twisting every character and make them turn to bad or good guy). But i enjoy the unique aura between sho and yoon a.
Theme Song: I believe [Ayaka]: 7
9. Comments by Tu_triky [Rating: 7/10]
I really enjoy Yutaka Takenouchi's performances so I was looking forward to this dorama. It was interesting to a point, but the plot was unevenly paced and lost some steam at certain points...the surprise twists were a plus but it was definitely not Yutaka Takenouchi's best work. Perhaps above average but it doesn't rival Yutaka's other work. A crime dorama for those interested.

not your typical japanese drama which has a theme for each and every episode. it is more to a korean like drama. the story unfolds and has a lot of twist to it and the twisted plot intensive towards the end. overall, not for those who dislike suddenly change and typical korean storyline where hero and heroin known each other since they're small.
11. Comments by yougashi [Rating: 9/10]
I like Japanese-Korean crossover production. The plot had loads of holes but still amazing, with great effects and suspense. Unfortunatly there was no chemistry between the two leads. Amazing performance by Yutaka-san - the only person who gets away with being hot despite the facial hair.
12. Comments by kaonashi [Rating: 3/10]
I'm sure they tried hard to come up with something special for the sake of Choi Ji-woo. But a nice & simple love story would've been far better than this ludicrous plot. Takenouchi Yutaka's a good actor & did the best he could. Unfortunately it's wasn't enough to save this crap.
13. Comments by calico [Rating: 5/10]
Overrated. While I have always enjoyed Takenouchi's superb acting skills, and again he is at his subtle best here again. I find Choi Ji Woo to be over the top with her acting. I actually thought she was the weakest link in this whole drama . This drama was so-so for me.

Just started last night on TBS - started off with action, then slowed down to introduce the story line and characters.
A lot of twists and turns in the story line, and characters also link to each other in one way or another. Look forward to watching the rest of it.
15. Comments by AjiKan [Rating: 6/10]
The beginnning was hard for me to get into, but it got better. Then towards the end i started not liking it because of the complexity of the storyline. The director really liked weird camera angles. I would give it a higher rating if the ending wasn't so bad.
16. Comments by PaperCaged [Rating: 7/10]
This show seemed very draggy at times, I just wanted to fast forward. The music started to annoy me after awhile because they kept playing the same few clips over and over. However, it was a good serious show and the actors/actresses did a great job.
17. Comments by mariaclara [Rating: 8/10]
Yutaka and Ji Woo looked hot together. The drama got too illogical at many points however. Too many twists and turns that just made me go "What the f...?!" I enjoyed it though. It's refreshingly different, and the production was top notch.

i nvr liked CJW in any of her dramas...but since Yutaka was init...I had to bear with her...i think this drama was dissapointmnt...the characters are..not well developed...take Moko for instance...he shldve be a better crook...
19. Comments by x_XJules [Rating: 10/10]
AMAZING! So complex and intense. You'd think they'd run out of quality storyline by episode 7, but the show just keeps producing gold. the main basis is an undercover cop in a yakuza or well-organized terror group.
20. Comments by Jackykero [Rating: 9/10]
Leading couple is absolutely great.
Realistic and serious story that unfolds little by little, with twists here and there.
A lot of everything - romance, funny moments, suspense, great acting, and a great story.
21. Comments by aramia [Rating: 6/10]
the twist at the end is just disappointing. Is that all the writers could come up with? Nonetheless, for a bid budget collaboration, it is nice to watch all the cool shooting angle, nice music and pretty backdrop.
22. Comments by mrose [Rating: 8/10]
Not your typical Jdorama. It is true its does feel like a rift of Infernal Affairs. But Yutaka Takenouchi made this Jdorama his. I love it and I love the ending. I love his acting. He is one serious actor.

This series has a good look to it. There's lots of style. The story is also very good with a lot of twists. However, the final confrontation is really unbelievable. It made very little sense to me.

Another jdorama with a twist in the story. Great actors; Takenouchi Yutaka and Choi Ji Woo. Maybe the beginning is a little slow but as it goes on it is interesting. I just love mystery :)
25. Comments by xxhiroxx [Rating: 6/10]
The drama is pretty interesting. Intense and suspenseful. Not a bad watch... that is, if you could get past the absolutely boring and tedious first episode. Plot twisters on crack?
26. Comments by g_hunter1 [Rating: 9/10]
This series was kinda surprising for me. Nice story involving the use of an undercover cop. It was pretty nice to see that there were korean actors incorporated into this drama.

I love the detective stuff
The music was good
Yui IS HOT as always
Twists were fun but a bit too many
Ending dragged a little
Love story shouldn't be the focus of the show

29. Comments by Coolsmurf [Rating: 6/10]
still watching, so far as been brilliant that is until the middle when it sorta becomes unreal and i was forcing myself to finish it. Yutaka was the only saving light.

It's about hatred and tragedy. The plot and storyline is interesting and not too easy to predict. I love Yutaka, he's awesome. Good chemistry with Choi Ji Woo.

Rondo is a truly good show between a Korean woman and a Japanese undercover agent... Krn actress Choi Ji Woo appears in Rondo as a woman who is searching for her father in Japan... Meanwhile the Japanese undercover agent is Takenouchi Yukata and he is searching for the man who killed his father when he was a child... Coincidently these two meet and history, fate and love portray between the two throughout the time...
