Synopsis
A group of five medical students take on the task of conveying the "voices of the dead."

Kaji Daiki fails to get into a popular heart surgery seminar but is somehow accepted into a seminar on forensic pathology. When he approaches professor Sagawa and asks him why he ended up in the seminar, Sagawa challenges him by asking why he wants to study heart surgery. Daiki replies that medicine is meaningless after the heart stops, but Sagawa counters that medicine also applies to the dead.

And so, together with fellow students Ryosuke, Kanako, Teppei, and Akira, Daiki begins to explore the mysteries of death.

1. One's Dead Proven with Scientific [Rating: 8/10]
Interested at the first glance to watch this dorama when I saw Eita and Toma Ikuta were playing together. Indeed this dorama is not bad at all, few times my eyes were teary when the story gets so touched.

There's no link between each episode's storyline however the personnel relationship was built up from time to time. Kaji Daiki (Eita) was applying for heart surgery seminar however his name was registered in human pathology seminar. Then he met his known friend Ryosuke (Toma Ikuta). Besides 2 of them, there are 3 more who are also involved in this seminar, makes it up total 5.

During his childhood, Daiki was a victim of derailed train. His supervisor - Sagawa sensei was a doctor on duty at that time. He tried to resuscite one mother, unfortunately the lady was out of breath, her hand which holded a bell dropped then left a bell sound. Daiki noticed that and with his innocent face he said to Sagawa sensei, "The mother wants to leave the world and she's trying to tell you by ringing the bell." The bell was then took by Daiki from the lady's hand and given to her infant.

From that moment, Sagawa always remembered Daiki and eventually he's the one who arranges for Daiki to enter Human Pathology rather than Heart Surgery seminar. Each episode offers its own intrict and the plot is not simply made up. <I guess the story could happen in real life>. One's death always has a secret but the scientific explanation left the love one without question mark anymore.

2. Not up to expectations [Rating: 6/10]
The first few episodes aren't that bad, as the characters are somehow involved in the cases, allowing us to learn about their past or why they joined Forensic Medicine. However, we don't learn much about the main character until the final episode (with a small twist) which is a nice change as this is usually done in the begining. However, the middle episodes are very routine like and predictable. After watching Eito's perfomance in Unfair, his performance in this drama was quite a let down. This drama is still watchable though. There are some pretty funny, light-hearted scenes here and there which is a nice contrast to the more serious scenes. Overall, not a bad drama, and if you don't think of it as a Japanese version of CSI, you won't be so disappointed.

3. Not what I expected, but it was still good [Rating: 8/10]
Those who are expecting to watch a drama about forensic medicine should be aware that forensics was clearly not the focus of this drama.
I would say that this drama is more of a human drama, with some detective work mixed in it.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed this drama. The highlight of this drama for me was the touching scenes at the end of the episodes. The actors conveyed those scenes extremely well.
I also liked the subtle romance between Daiki and Aki.

4. Good medical dorama [Rating: 8/10]
Iryu is still the best but this is the good one. I really enjoyed this show, the character kaiji daiki was quite interesting and eita made it happen. Toma has made a great job too, easy-going character really fit him.

Really good show, very emotional made me cry pretty much every episode because it's dealing with death, it was a very powerful show and I felt it was also really well acted.
Episode 8 was the most emotional for me as it made me cry for the guy who tried to save the boy but the parents didn't wanna know, it also made me cry in relief for Endo Yuya's character I was so scared for him! And he played the part so well.
Kaji and Aki were really sweet together, would love to see an SP or something where she returns from her month in America so they could tie things up :P
Anyway, yeah really good show, I enjoyed it a lot, just my eyes are a tad sore now ^^;

This drama sounded interesting from the press releases and trailer, but it just turned out to be another mediocre, cliche "police", investigate-a-case-and-solve-it kind of drama. Yes, the main characters are not police, but that just makes the whole set-up more illogical. Seriously, which medical resident will really have the time to go out and investigate the reasons why their "patients" died? I understand the need to dramatize things for TV, but this is just totally unreal. Not to mention that the characterization of each character was incredibly shallow. A complete let down.

Though the synopsis makes this sound like a mystical / supernatural thing, it's actually an excellent story about a group of students in forensic pathology, unraveling mysteries via clues they derive from the bodies of the deceased. Much like the drama "Life," ethical questions are everywhere in this series, and there is a general sense of palpable **goodness** about all of the principle characters - and even some of the "villains," which provides some shocking and edifying twists. "Voice" is another J-dorama classic, a must-see.
4. Comments by Susan [Rating: 9/10]
This was a fun and interesting drama, but almost entirely due to the cast and characters. The episodic style and somewhat obvious mysteries took a back seat to the character development and it felt like they could have been anywhere, doing anything. Art students, for example. Or business students. Eita was, of course, the shining star of the series but I also loved Sato Tomohito and Ishihara Satomi (who has grown a lot as an actress since Kimi wa Petto). Not one of my top 3 for the winter 2009 drama season, but still pretty good.

A typical medical/human drama but this time, it concentrates on forensics or so it says on the synopsis but itfs also a detective drama since Eitafs character investigates what really happened with the dead bodies they examined. I like Daikifs quirkiness, how he prefers food with the way they ordinarily or plainly are. I also like Daiki and Aki's cute moments together. Too bad Toma's acting was the same as always, I wonder when he'll work on that, he might just continue to get the same roles in the future.
6. Comments by yeoni [Rating: 4/10]
wow, it was not as exciting as I hoped, the cast was alluring and pretty good but the story was a slight flop. It lacked continuity and I was like, I don't really care. Some of the scenarios were like wtf? I was hoping for some more intense reasons to why this person died rather than oh he was trying to catch a falling child. Oh and Ikuta Toma, his acting was generic, he needs to break away from the role in which he screams out "don't joke with me...etc".

A nice dorama... Doesnt have much of a "Rewatchable" factor.. but still is a pretty good one! amazing casting (LOVED Eita's character and all those "Doshite?") Each episode stands on its own... the stories r pretty nice (made me cry a few times)... Well.. if the american CSI would be more like this dorama i would probably like the show better! Dont expect to see murders cases or sumthing like that... this show is just plain beautiful.

Beware if you think this is a mystery/forensic medicine/crime solving action drama. On the contrary, itLs more about five medicine students, their challenges and their friendships. They solve some minor mysteries but itLs more because they care and they wish to make difference. The characters are loveable, especially Eita and Toma and I enjoyed it very much but I found it at times a bit slow.

Nice dorama, not a must see but it is a nice dorama, most episodes are very similar where they found a case and they solve it - mostly with Eita's great help.

Cast is great, Eita is great, but it would be better if Toma or Ishihara Satomi had a more relevant role. Dorama too focused on how Eita tackles the case.

Insert song by Greeeen is lovely

Even though it follows a rather strict pattern in every episode it's still very enjoyable. Nice characters and great actors, it gives away a nice positive feeling. :3 Might not be what one expects of a drama about forensic medicine students but if one doesn't judge it from this point it's nevertheless funny and entertaining.

Forensic + Detective, but it's more like detective story for me. This is unique, you will find the problem on each episode are great. Daiki and aki are great couple, Daiki "Doushite" always makes me laugh..hahaha, great job Eita. I want more from this series, maybe special episode..

I enjoyed it, Great cast with great chemistry, especially Eita and Satomi. They have acted together before and are just so cute together. I think the theme of the drama, very different and interesting. Definitely a great message and meaning, maybe a little bit too deep for me, but still understandable.

Eita and his cute mannerisms make this worth watching. Some stories were touching while some where just plain ridiculous. There's a lot ethically wrong with what the students do, but as long as you don't take it too seriously it's fairly enjoyable. Daiki is absolutely love!

I watched this in September 2016 and hardly remember it. I recall it being slow-paced and overly melodramatic. Even Ikuta Toma and Eita couldn't save the show. They all looked too orange as well (may be related to the fansub quality).

I really enjoyed this drama, it has minimal goriness and was also a comedy, except for this one episode with the old man and the dog, when I bawled like a litte kid...
the OT5 is awesome, loved every character (and Eitas hair).

It was alright, I guess. I was disappointed because I expected something better. It's a shame because I love Eita and the cast were all pretty good. But the mysteries themselves just weren't interesting.

Nothing like Kira kira hikaru. It's not a suspense or crime drama. It's more like the living reconciliating with their loved ones. Melodrama.
