Esaki Motomu is a gifted chef, but he lacks the necessary social skills. His uncompromising ways when it comes to cooking causes problems to those around him. As a chef, he believes firmly in the formula: Taste = Ingredients x Cooking Method, nothing more, nothing less. There isn't any need for human relations, love, traditions.
The famous Italian restaurant "Ristorante Roccabianca" is owned and run by Tatsumi Hideo. His daughter Saori acts as the restaurant's manager, and one day, she receives a call from the producers of the TV show, "Iron Chef". Hideo has been invited to appear on the show. Unfortunately, Hideo collapses while cooking, and goes into a coma. With no chef to helm the restaurant, Saori has no choice but to close the restaurant until Hideo recovers.
Meanwhile, Motomu is happily cooking alone in his tiny little Italian Bar kitchen, not realising that soon he may be working for Ristorante Roccabianca...
