| Synopsis |

A man, who's still a virgin, has a very rare disease which allows him to only have sex seven times in his life. After he has used up all the seven chances, he will never ever be able to have sex again for the rest of his life... and so far, he has wasted two chances on 'self gratification'. Now he only has five chances left, and he wants to choose carefully and save himself for that someone special...but at the same time he desperately wants to lose his virginity...

| | 1. | Solid Love story... but way too much sex... [Rating: 6/10]
If I’m completely honest with myself, I actually enjoyed Cupid no Itazura. Not because I was a fan of the cast, and not at all because it’s exceptionally written and produced. The first six or so episodes were hard to swallow because they were so bizarre. There is nothing at all enjoyable about watching a 21-year-old virgin masturbate in every single episode. But after the sixth episode, a solid love story begins to arise. I wasn’t too blown away with the main character’s performance, or with Akiyama Rina’s (in fact, I found her completely annoying). But I WAS impressed with Kitagawa Hiromi. Not only was she physically cute and lovable, but also she portrayed her character very well. I was surprised at how talented she is considering the type of drama I was watching, but she really did convince the viewers that she was, in fact, Aysumi-chan.
So taking out all the hand-jobs and the concept of a disease called “Rainbow Balls”(bleh), I did find the love story intriguing and angst ridden… just the way I like it. The sub-plot concerning Aysumi-chan’s lover and his wife was also interesting. It made all the other discrepancies and randomocities (and there were A LOT) kinda forgivable.

This might be the most "adult" drama I've seen. If it wasn't for the few funny moments in the 1st episode, I think I wouldn't have finished it. The 1st 3 minutes are kind of weird... ^_^;
