Synopsis

Looking for a job, Hana gets work at the Andrews Department Store, but her boss hates her and gives her impossible work to do. Her bubbly nature and creativity soon bring success to every job she is assigned though, and the president even wonders if her mysterious charm can rally the company and pull them out of their financial difficulties. But the President and Ryou, his straight-laced son, have different ideas about running the company. Perhaps if she finds true love for Ryou, she can soften his hard heart. Anything seems possible with Hana's never-ending optimism, which is the basis for this heart-warming and humorous story of the power of positivity!

1.	My Favorite Drama! [Rating: 10/10] I really enjoyed this drama. The characters were really fun and full of spirit. It was cool how they played up fairytale themes, and yet resulted in an original and interesting show. The ending is perfect as well. Angsty yet feel good, I definately recommend this show!

2.	Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 7/10] Ugh, took some time to finish this one. It kept losing me as a fan. But when i think about it, it was very cute and Inamori is good at that. That happy-g0-lucky act gets to you sometimes tho, well, hit and miss all the way to the end.

3.	way to teach horrible morals [Rating: 2/10] izumi was so good in this drama, after watching this and long vacation, i am now a big izumi fan. HOWEVER, the storyline of this drama is god awful. the first six episodes were great, and then they had to go and ruin it by letting ryoko take the reins. ok so she's more popular in japan, so what? her character in this drama was a selfish whiny little brat who only cared about herself and SHE gets the guy? what the hell is that? seriously, this drama was so good until ryoko ruined it, you don't understand how pissed i am right now after watching that debacle of a drama, props to izumi, she did a wonderful job, but for god's sake fire whoever wrote the story, i'm gonna go hang myself now....

4.	could have been better [Rating: 4/10] as mentioned by others, the story unfolds very slowly and fails to precipitate a sense of excitement that many of the best dramas stir up. a few great individual talents but as a whole, the drama is somewhat lacking in direction and storytelling. enjoyable at times, but uninspired at others. not inamori izumi's best work, although that's not her fault.

5.	quite enjoyable [Rating: 7/10] I watched this dorama just because i'm a fan of Seiichi Tanabe. My review for this dorama: "It is an enjoyable dorama to watch. although the story's quite draggy. I don't like the ending, because i still think Hana should get the guy."

6.	to watch if u are bored... [Rating: 7/10] it had good points...but i didnt enjoy the last episode at all... This drama was entertaining..but never had that cliff hanger ending where you really wanted to watch the next one...I was hoping and wishing for Hana to end with Ryo....who was she in the end? A happiness spirit? Was she the happiness and peppy girl inside Ayumi? Cause i agree that they show Ayumi as a spoilt girl...she could have been nicer...and the end just seemed very rushed...but oh well...it was still entertaining but not one of my favs...

7.	Cinderella Story [Rating: 7/10] This is the first time I have seen a drama and felt completely neutral/indifferent about it. Perhaps this has something to do with the lead character, Inamori Izumi, and how she didn’t fully convince me in her role. I found her character to be a bit too much on all accounts, and although the character is meant to be inspirational, I didn’t care enough about her to be inspired. Of course, this has more to do with the character than the actual actress. I think Inamori Izumi is a fine actress, but the role she was given was terribly lacking. The supporting cast is perhaps the reason I finished the drama. Ryoko’s character is supposed to be dull and boring. And she is. Ryoko successfully captured the role and made the character not only interesting to watch, but also more real and more likable than the lead character. Her character has depth － she feels things, and expresses things, and has faults. Nana was superbly hilarious, and for me she was the winning star from the three women. Nearly every scene with Nana made me laugh, and her facial expressions and pitches in tone were perfect. The plot itself was “okay”. The base story was interesting, and plot twists were well done, but there were certain scenes (like the whole standing on the head for three hours scene) that were just ridiculous and unnecessary. The love the director falls into with Ryoko’s character was a bit unreal as well, but since I was rooting for her, I can’t really complain here. ^_- On the whole, I don’t feel as though I wasted my time on this drama, but I don’t think I’d rewatch it anytime soon. O, and on a random note, I have NO IDEA why the drama is called “Pretty Girls”. The title has nothing to do with the story whatsoever… if should have had something to do with the fairy godmother quality of the plot. After all, Hana (Inamori Izumi) really was Cinderella's fairy godmother.
