This is an excellent sequel which managed to keep the best of the original (background music, mood and feel) while giving a fresh face-lift with new casts and story. Fujiki Naohito is simpily the best choice of actor for the role. |

This drama really pushes the limits, but tells a frank story, concerning teachers and love relationships between their students. From my point of view, I really think teen girls chasing after their teachers at 14 is weird, a crush isn't unusual, but such ardent lust freaked me out, haha. Other than that, the acting is superb and not to be missed if one can stand the idea of such relationships. Better than the predecessor perhaps. |

A drama with a calm, mystic and at times bizarre atmosphere. Has a nice plot with excitement, and really good acting overall.
This drama, as many others involve illness and bittersweet romance, and it have many scenes that's meant to be memorable. Holds a nice soundtrack too.
Sometimes things in the story can go overboard though, but it's partly positive, because it give this series its character. |

Definitely the saddest drama I have ever watched thus far. The story itself is a classic--a young high school girl falls in love with her new teacher who is diagnosed with cancer and therefore only has one year to live. Great job by Ueto Aya and Fujiki Naohito. I highly recommend it! |

This has got to be the best drama i have ever watched. Fujiki Naohito and Aya Ueto work beautifully together. This is a very dark drama with a lot of conflicts, deception and twists, and it keeps you guessing till the very end. I love everything about this drama and like it even better than the original Kou Kou Kyoshi. It is the most touching drama and shows the whole process of falling in love. |

Very sensitive dorama, definitely not for everyone..At times hard to understand the roles' actions, but when u think about it it makes sense. Very touching, the way the teacher becomes more and more dependent on his student, as she slowly lifts up his burden and shows some light in his dark and lonely life (T^T)

Outstanding acting by Fujiki, till I can 'feel' his pain and desperation :( Aya is also very cute, but dun reali like it when she abandon Fujiki completely then starts chasing after him once he's gone. Though I could identify with her feeling cheated, but he's always there for her whenever she needs him (though at first it's out of guilt) so I find it very unbearable when he needs her and she refused him completely..
Hated the soundtrack at first but found it rather mystical and soothing as the story rolls.... |

I really got to hate the teacher because of his "experiment" on Hina. Incredibly immoral. He wasn't likeable enough to pull it off as a result of his condition, so I wasn't able to conjure up any sympathy for him at all. Ueto Aya as Hina was just the right amount of vulnerable and adorable. Narimiya Hiroki was excellent as a young nightclub host who isn't what he seems, and I loved Sonim as the young schoolgirl he literally takes for a ride. |

started out in a very novel fashion with great acting and interesting plot twists. loved the acting by aya ueto and sonim....excellently cast in my opinion...however, i felt the show lost some luster as it progressed. i became more interested in the side story after a while to be honest. moreover, the ending was not contrived but VERY unimaginatively executed. the suspension of disbelief disminshed as the show progressed...not nearly as heartwrenching as "beautiful life" although some may suggest otherwise. i did enjoy the fact that the drama was different than many others though. |

The story in itself I thought lacked. Fujiki Naohito did put up a great performance.. his acting has been getting better. It's one of those you either like or don't. Very dark and really deals with playing with human emotions... it's all a game afterall. I do salute Narimiya Hiroki's acting... truly breathtaking.. not to say flawless. An actor to look out for. I do wonder though why some people say they still liked him despite him being the bad guy. The character is meant to be hated! If you like that type of guy (not the actor.. the character) then you truly should consult a psychaetrist! Brilliant performance! |

HS Teacher 2003 represents a very disturbing theme for a drama. Though I find the romantic relationaship between teacher and student quite shocking--considering these girls were considerably younger-- it also opens the viewers eyes to some extent that this may indeed happen in reality , after all teachers are human-subjected to emotions of sadness and passion. I found Ueto and Somin acting with much maturity far beyond their ages. Kyomito as Fujimura is someone you either loved or hated. Fujiki as Koga could only tear your heart to pieces with such emotional sadness especially in the scenes where he was dying-- his projected strenghth was awe inspiring. Simply a great drama, despite the twisted plots. |

Aya Ueto is as cute as ever. One of my favorites actresses. Strangely, I was more pulled in by the side story of Moroki the other male teacher and his student Beniko. Wow, Norimiya was the epitome of evil. Contrast this role with his in Orange Days and you will appreciate his acting skills.

A nice drama which became really interesting when Yuji came into it. I think I found that more interesting then the two main characters to be honest.
However, I didn't liked the melodramatic acting of Fujimura. He was really annoying from time to time, but he had his good moments to.

This is an intriguing story; although the concept was centred around a teacher's love for a student and vise versa, for me it was the psychological aspect of the story that I became soon drawn too. Taken at face value as another "forbidden love"-type romance this will not satisfy you, as it is too dark in terms of its theme to allow you to enjoy it as that sort of drama. However, I think the unique twists that come about, although perhaps slightly incomprehendable, bring up strong questions about love as a virtue - is it based on need? Can it be overshadowed by guilt? Can those suffering a terrible past come to resolution? But perhaps one of the most interesting characters you'll see and the most brilliantly portrayed is Fujimura-sensei - a man with a terrible past, facing a life of guilt and covering his true persona with a "mask". You also see that his protection of Sonim's character brings dangerously closer to the horrids of his past, and it was this guy's character that kept me on the edge of my seat. |

Wow.
The sidestories are a bit strange and not so well-developed, but the main story had an amazing impact on me in the last two episodes. When the series starts, you think that the teacher Ikumi is the worst person alive and doesn't deserve to live. And you see Hina as the childish schoolgirl of 17. Later on, Hina develops vastly and grows up, more than Ikumi ever had. But you get to understand Ikumis ways and feelings nearly complete. The end of the story is very sad, but not in the plain way, much more subtle; it mixes up your feelings. Seeing Hina in the ending scene I would describe as the "saddest happy end" I've ever watched.
PS: For the "DUMB" and "SUCKS" people:
Watch this to the very end!!! Or you'll never get to understand this dorama with its many twists. There was a part when I was annoyed by the sidestories, too. Therefore 8 points, but the ending full points.
Well. 1 week after. I still have to think about this Dorama. Together with the beautiful soundtrack...well...9 or 10. |

At first I thought this series would be a typical student-teacher-relationship-type with some people who think it's odd or annoying and interfering them and such. But it turned out to be more than that. There were more twists to it and that made me more interested in it. It was like a new type of story of the student-teacher-relationship. I liked that idea.
But actually, more than that.. it wasn't that exciting. It was sad at times though... I think it's worth watching anyway. Fujiki and Ueto are pretty good actors.. not that much at the played time back in 2003, but they have surely improved by now ^_^
So, uhh.. I wouldn't recommend this series, really, but even so, it's worth watching anyway, I guess, as I said.. XD. |

COMPLETE. The drama is a simple drama.There is nothing extraordinary in it. But it was well-directed that the simplicity itself turned out to be very good and really amused me. It is a story about a love relationship between a teacher and student. But it's not a typical teacher and student love drama. It's not that their realationship is objected be it by the communitity or the family. But it is other than that. I don't want to say that I can feel the pain experienced by the actor and actress, but I want to say that I can SEE the pain. The actors and actresses really done really awesome jobs in this. All the characters were potrayed very well. Kudos to Narimiya Hiroki. His performance are PERFECT! So perfect, he suits the character well, and succeed in making his character so real. He impressed me so much that he can handle that character despite his young age. With his performance in Kou Kou Kyoushi, I give him a standing ovation. He is a talented actor and the entertainment industry should make use of it. That talent, if not use intelligently will be a big waste to the industry. The love between the main character is unbelievably makes me feel happy, sad and really touched my emotion. Even after I finished it, I can still feel their love in the air..... and I cried. I've read plenty good reviews about it and so do a plenty of bad reviews, u have to watch it to decide. |

I have to say, I haven't seen a storyline this twisted and unforgettable since my first ever drama "Winter Sonata". However, although there is fewer episodes and a very different story, all i can say is that I was totally inclined to watching it and connected to each character.
Although, I must say the characters do very messed up things to each other and to themselves, it all makes it such an incredible drama. It just made me realize how messed up love really is... but at the same time it reminded me how indescribable love can also be.
That's just my opinion, GOOD ACTING by the way by all the characters. |
