1. Not the best sport dorama but interesting enough. [Rating: 7/10]
H2 is basically a baseball dorama based from a comics book. The story basically revolve with 2 excellent baseball players (Yamada Takayuki and Tanaka Koutaro), playing in different schools and had to compete one another in the final game. Not only they had to compete in the pitch...they also fallen in love for the same girl. (Ichikawa Yui).

But it is Ishihara Satomi that helps Ishihara Satomi to pick up the baseball game again. Ishihara is quite a clumsy girl. In this dorama, you keep seeing her falling down flat on the floor....it seems that she had problems in balancing herself.

In this dorama...the pace and development of the story is quite alright...but you can roughly guess what happen next after each episodes. Not much twist...not much humour....not much in-depth love story. But still interesting to watch it. At least it get me hook on baseball games whenever they have competitions.

2. Not one of Yamada or Ishihara's best... [Rating: 7/10]
I liked it a bit, but I don't think it brought the full acting potential that Yamada is known for. Ishihara's part was too energetic for her to handle, she doesn't seem to be this kind of person to me. Ishigaki and Nakao played their roles very well though.
Ishigaki although scary, pronounced crazy boy who's out to impress a girl, great. Nakao looked so much more adorable in this one, a boy wanting love, but too cocky or shy to do so himself.
The love triangle between Yamada, Ichikawa, and Tanaksa's characters was splendid, but the ending did not solve anything for this predicament the three were in. It just kept swaying back and forth between both guys...even though Ishihara's character was clear on her feelings towards Hiro.
Thought it could of done a little bit better, but it is still a funny and sweet drama for someone to watch.

3. A very good watch [Rating: 10/10]
H2 may seem to be about baseball, but the drama is so much richer than that. There is an underlying love story that isn't exactly about love, but about the affection that grows between childhood friends.

H2 is about shifting through feelings that question what love is, and the different forms of love.

Satomi-chan was brilliant, as usual, and Yamada Takayuki was very convincing.

The plot moves slowly, but effectively, and the comedy perfectly balances out the drama. Well done!

4. A Must Watch for any Adachi Mitsuru fan~ [Rating: 9/10]
Those who cited that the relationships in this dorama doesnt develop into anything, clearly missed the point completely. Anyone who has ever read a Adachi Mitsuru's manga, will tell you he is known for exploration of subtleties in relationships. Just because it isnt clear-cut, doesnt mean nothing is happening. As for those who claim baseball is a boring game which sucks. Have your ever seriously play the game before? Hiro sums up the beauty of the game in episode one. Nuff said.

5. Not the best but it was above adequate [Rating: 6/10]
a 6.5 I give this drama based on a manga series. I like the characters but the characterization is flawed. The characterization was rushed in the last two episodes of the drama of the four main characters. Yamada Takayuki's talented acting skills were wasted. I'm sure the younger generations like watching this drama though. Although I have been negative, it is still a reasonable baseball sports story but it could have been better.

An absolutely gripping story. This amazing drama has a sort of innocence to it that makes it irresistible. After not having seen it for 10 months or so I watched it again and It was just as good if not better than the first time. Funny enough I had turned away from baseball in favor of football like Kunimi did. But this drama rekindled my interest in baseball. I highly recommend this drama to anyone.

This show is really good and it is not a disappointment at all.... its not draggy plus its very funny especially yamada! yamada is so good looking with that blur and cool look he wore the whole time.
yamada is quiet in the show but his actions and short answers are worth looking out for.
i hope more ppl will watch this show and become fans of yamada(hiro) because he is a very talented actor.

I liked this drama a lot. At first, I was quite reluctant to watch it because I don't really like to watch baseball...or any other sports. But I found this drama extremely cute...and I am a huge fan of the artistes who star in it. I had a hard time deciding who I wanted to end up with who as far as the couples go...the love triangles are complicated and seem sort of bittersweet.

So far, H2 is looking to be a great drama. It's funny, witty, interesting and certainly holds many surprises for those who haven't yet read the original manga. Even for those who have read the comic will find that the cast very much represent the characters as presented in Mitsuru Adachi's novels. A great drama and still so much more to come...

This drama is great. Even if you don't like baseball, it's still amazing. The acting was done very well, although I didn't like Satomi's acting that much. She was better in waterboys. Eventhough this drama and its soundtrack is amazing, i feel some relationship development is missing. But it's still great.

Just love the show, though a bit show I think. Overall, very good flow of the story and plot, makes you just can't stop. Every match in that show was really exciting, though in the first few matches, there were some lost matches.

Te 3 friends have very complicated feelings between them, and I thought that it is a bit disappointing that Ichikawa was not together with Yamada, even though they liked each other and have very good chemistry... I would think she is a better girlfriend compared to Ishihara... but that's how the story goes.

Overall, I see outstanding acting from Yamada and Ichikawa. Sadly, I would think Ishihara is a bit weak in this show, and the love between Yamada and her is less 'exciting' than the baseball matches...

One very very cuteee supporting actor is Nakao.. OMG, he's not handsome, but he's really cute and doesn't lose out to Yamada in the show, he's as interesting in every scene he appears, especially when he encourages Yamada. And some scenes, he appears like a sukebe, but very cute.. ohhh..

Then, there is a noisy boy but sulky boy Ishigaki that added quite few funny scenes to it.
Overall, the support actors are good, the main lead (except for the Ishihara) are really good, making the show worthy to watch. Ichikawa displayed great potential in the show, way to go!
I agree that this show may be a little bit too easy for Yamada to handle, his potential goes much further.

I like baseball, yet I still found this one to be really, REALLY boring at times. Could you say...lack of direction? It seemed like the plot was going nowhere, and there was such wasted potential with the casting. I love Ishihara...she was probably the only reason why I continued to watch this drama (Ichikawa too, at times). I'm personally not a fan of Yamada Takayuki or Tanaka Koutaro, and didn't care too much about their friendly rivalry. This drama really lacked Ishihara and Ichikawa. =/ Ishihara's character was really cute, though. The most irritating part about this drama is the fact that there's a love triangle, and nothing gets resolved in the end (well, I guess that's a good thing 'cause I would have puked if Yamada and Ishihara hooked up). Plus, I think Yamada's team loses in the end at Koushien after years of work...meh, I don't even remember. That's how UNMEMORABLE this drama was; what a snoozefest. Also, Yamada's performance in this drama is a fine example of why I don't like him as an actor. His character is always the typical monotonous, emotionless, one-word-answer jerk ass.
3. Comments by Kitsuchi [Rating: 8/10]
Interesting plot. Before watching this, I knew almost nothing about baseball. Well, I still barely know anything, but I know at least a bit more. And I even think now that it seems to be an interesting sport, thanks to this series.

The cast were kind of great. My favourite was Ishigaki Yuma. He was so excellent, the best, the funniest and the most convincing one. And I think most of them fitted perfectly to the characters, except that the acting could be alot better. There were annoying scenes and alot of incidents where the reasons weren't shown. This and that happened but what for? And why? That's what I asked myself. Sometimes I couldn't understand what exactly happened and why. Things were going too fast at times.
But the plot in all was interesting.. It was about the sport baseball after all. I liked it and actually enjoyed it although. I recommend it even if you don't like baseball or whetever ^_^.
4. Comments by donna8157 [Rating: 8/10]
A great drama that has many cute moments. The story revolved as much around love as it did baseball. Yamada Takayuki once again does a wonderful job with his portrayal of the talented baseball pitcher, Kunimi Hiro. His interaction with Haruka was just adorable and funny. The only bit that I was disappointed in was towards the last third of the series where the plot seemed to lose some of its momentum when there was all the indecisiveness on both Hikari and Hiro's parts on who they love. It just didn't contribute to a very believable ending.

I recommend this drama especially to those who have enjoyed other sports-type dramas like "Waterboys". You can see many references to that series in this one - including many of the actors and actresses from "Waterboys 1 and 2"
5. Comments by Kirari Ililah [Rating: 7/10]
The drama was nice, but not a perfect story line. The love triangle kept going in cycle, never ending, and this drama didn't bring out the full potential talent that Yamada and Ishihara have. Tanaka and Ichikawa's chemistry was well played out, but the childhood love of Ichikawa's character towards Hiro kept disturbing the story's mood. Ishigaki played his energetic, although frightning, character with so much power. This is also one of Nakao's best as well, he gave his character a nice emotion that makes me feel sorry for his empty love character. Finally the new comer actor, Hojo Takahiro, he's so cute, although it was hard to find his character's personality for it went from Punkboy to wild and willing, he still get props for being adorable.
6. Comments by Ezalor [Rating: 9/10]
It's a drama full of perfect youth memories I've never had. Especially remarkable is the "power", that is the chemistry between the main characters, Hiro and Hikari in particular. You can't imagine the tension between these two until you see it. Weak points are: everything including the all-japan championship seemed so easy, all this was only a vehicle for the love entanglements. And the end, you always rooted for Hiro and Hikari but it ended like it should and like you can figure out from the beginning. The symbolic of the settings was brought in well (sea in last ep. or the "seasons"-ending in general). Great acting.
At last I would like to mention that Baseball sucks after all.
7. Comments by EstherM [Rating: 9/10]
I always hated sports dramas for that the storyline always seems to be the same: underdogs first struggle, overcome their weakness and always end up winning the finals. H2 in that sense is no different, yet I enjoyed it immensely because H2 gets the balance right between sports and friendship, love and other day-to-day worries. The four protagonists and their friends are normal teenagers who struggle with unrequited love, death of a parent, deciding on their future and other insecurities. Nothing overly angsty but even I (over 30) could identify with some of the issues. The baseball scenes are enjoyable for non-fans and not every game is easily won, some are stupidly lost.
8. Comments by Nermal [Rating: 9/10]
Fresh Cast of actors, all recently shot up to fame for either Sekachu or Water Boys I or II. Salute to te once again great acting from Yamada Takayuki, also a side note for Tanaka Koutarou for a nice performance in his supporting role.

The story itself was quite shortened from the manga/anime but overall well brought. The ending to me was kind of a deception, as much as I love romance, that wasn't quite it. I'm a sucker for unrequited love, but that,s aside the point here.

Good soundtrack, good cast, good story. All you need left is a bag of popcorn and your set for a good drama watching.
9. Comments by minochi99 [Rating: 5/10]
Yamada is not a convincing "male sports star" in my mind. He's too "pretty" for roles like this. A little too effeminate I guess. The baseball action was tolerable. They're kids, so I have to take that into account. Storyline wasn't too bad and the comedy relief has it's moments. Liked the Ryutaro character.

Satomi was a nice character here. I'm beginning to notice her, especially watching Yoshitsune right now, where she is really beautiful. Show is watchable. Not earth shattering, but decent. Not a full hearty recommendation, but it's watchable.

Boring and childish drama.
It's very difficult to fit well a story of 24 volumens in 11 chapters, and this is the reason why i think that the plot lacks interest. When i watched the last episode i didn't care who'll win the duel between Hiro and Hideo or who'll win the love of Hikari.
Futhermore, the performance of the cast isn't quite good, i am sure that they can do it much better.
Besides, the drama has only 2 or 3 good chapters, the rest are very boring

this show's biggest problem for me was that it slowed down to a near halt just before a rushed end. the strongest point on the other hand would be the ensemble cast, with my favourite being ishihara satomi and the guy who plays kine/fune. sometimes i didn't quite understand the game so that takes some of the excitement away... and some of the drama seemed pointless. nevertheless, i enjoyed it even if i had to slug it out towards the finale. could have been better.

Yamada is great and so are all the supporting actors, however I would have liked to see the plot go a little deeper and a little farther. Good sports drama, but it shows too much pitching and not enough of the others. I also thought the love triangles were a bit strained and not as believable as they could have been. Also, one part that I thought came out of *nowhere*! Still, I enjoyed it a lot.

Just finished this drama recently. There are quite a few visual effect scence which makes this show interesting. The play-offs between the teams are not that many, taking care not to let it be another drama where competition plays the centre stage. There's nice mixture of romance, family, friendship and pride in this drama which makes it worth watching.

A captivating coming-of-age story with a young qualified cast. Yamada Takayuki and Satomi Ishihara were entertaining to watch, and the supporting cast added laughter to the mix.

Very, very, very similar to an anime I once watched, Touch. But apparently, it's not based on that anime but another. Anyhow, a typical teenage drama with the expected love triangle story & what to do with life after graduation & all that. But it's nice seeing the baseball matches & all. It made me understand the sport alittle more.

Very good show, this show has my 2 fav people in it. Yamada Takayuki, and Ishihara Satomi. Satomi's char is somewhat irritating in the beginning but I guess she "matures" later on in the episodes so she gets all good afterall they are in highschool 10th grade. I tend to like these Romace dramas, very enteratining for some reason.

I wasnt expecting much from this dorama... i mean... i dont like baseball... and i tough it would be really strange to have the actor from Sekai Chuusin playing a sport Dorama... But in the end;... i really enjoyed this one... is not the best... but its really good... if i think about sports dorama... this one is the best ive seen...

H2 was very entertaining and touching... a great sport based drama!! It is not at all based around baseball, but friendship and love too~ and I really liked the fact that hiro and hideo was not like enemies enemies... but just like friends-enemies, that adds a deeper meaning then just some childish I-am-better-than-you type thing!!

Great plot. Great acting. Great everything. The story is centered around two rivals of high school baseball. The baseball games are highly entertaining to watch, even if you have no experience in baseball like me. Not to mention, the love story is very well developed. You really do not have to be a baseball fan to enjoy this one.

Hoi!

The yaku-plays (baseball-plays) are really great, with the camera angles and shots nicely done. In addition you have a very, very cute actress; but even though there is a plot besides baseball, it is just not compareable to such doramas as Dekichatta Kekkon (Shotgun Marriage) or Summer Snow which are real "dramas".

it's ur typical dramatic hero story dat's surprisingly believeable. the story focuses on how the one grows up & find the vision in their life. but of cos baseball was a plus point as i love to watch baseball matches!!!

By far, the best drama for this season! Yamada has returned to his cute usual self again after his not so great look in Sekai no Chuushin de Ai o Sakebu! Great young cast too. The theme song is a killer.

ItLs very very touching, it goes catching you episode by episode, no soap-opera, lightly but also knowing to be deep about giving oneLs soul for what is really you love in life.

Continued to watch for no reason, the story is more about life than the sport which was sort of disappointing but it was still a great series.
