Synopsis

When two souls find one anoter , nothing can tear them apart. Widower Takumi (Shidou Nakamura) lives a quiet life with his six-year-old son Yuji (Akashi Takei) after the loss of wife and mother Mio (Yuko Takeuchi). Yuji unfailingly remembers her promise to him: "I'll be with you again in a year's time, when the rains come." On the first anniversary of her passing, Takumi and Yuji are taking a walk in the woods when they come across a woman sheltering from a monsoon downpour. She bears an uncanny resemblance to Mio, but has no recollection of who she is or what she is doing there. Family life resumes from where they left off, while Takumi and Mio's memories of their first encounter in high school come flooding back. However, their new life together is interrupted by the discovery of Mio's old diary, which reveals the secrets of her past and how they must say goodbye once more in six weeks time...

But back then, I hadn't realized it yet." The above passage is an excerpt from Takuji Ichikawa's best-selling novel "Ima, Ai ni Yukimasu," from which the film "Be with You" takes its inspiration. Sweetly melancholy and ultimately uplifting, this tender love story has been brought to the silver screen by the assured touch and insightful sensibility of noted television director Nobuhiro Doi in his feature film debut. Talented young stars Yuko Takeuchi ("Yomigaeri: Resurrection") and Shidou Nakamura ("Ping Pong") vividly portray two lovers reunited by a mysterious quirk of fate who tentatively rediscover each other and the miraculous circumstances that have brought them together. Infused into the film's simple structure, which glides fluently between memories and the present, is a poignant expression of the manifold nature of love. The gentle resonance of "Be with You" will no doubt strike an inspirational chord in the hearts of viewers everywhere.

1.	Love at it simplest [Rating: 10/10] Beautifully shot, the show is a masterpiece showcase of japanese filmakers skills at capturing every beautiful details of simple moments and bringing it together into a touching and heartfelt story. Although you might not be crying your heart out throughout the film (there really isn't any single dramatic moment that will makes you cry) you will feel that painful constriction in your heart as you watch the Aio couple and son relive the joy of falling in love and forming a family and at the same time knowing that things are not going to last that eventually Yuko-chan's character will leave them. But as the show closes one finally understand the circumstances of their miraculous reunion , Mio's conviction that Taku-kun is the right one for her and her courage to go through the events even with what she knows. This is indeed a movie the is simplest in its basic and yet beautiful and deep at the same time.

5.	it shines despite all the rain [Rating: 10/10] this movie sure brings many audience to tears. the casts are all really wonderful and brought out the film to the right amount and exact chemistry. i like the way the movie goes about, the way it plays around with memories and keeps the readers in suspense. a show that can be understood only till the last tiny bit.

8.	Touching and smart movie [Rating: 10/10] This is the best movie version of TBS Pure Love Dorama Trilogy in my opinion. Great acting by Takeuchi Yuuko and Nakamura Shidou, the movie has the most touching story, and all the mysteries fit together perfectly in the end. Definitely recommend it 10/10

Right now, I'm going to meet you [Rating: 10/10] I don't know why the English name of the movie becomes "Be With You", since the Japanese name should be "Right now, I'm going to meet you", which is a way better title for this beautiful movie. I believe, this is the sentence Mio put in her diary after the premonition and decided bravely to meet her fate. There are many good time travel, premonition kinds of movies. But this one is especially beautiful. The memory loss and the diary are two very clever and unique points in the plot. The original novel is coming out in English soon and US is also going to remake the film. Such a beautiful story does deserve a much wider audience. It will be very interesting to compare the US version of the film with this original one. I would probably like Takeuchi Yuuko's performance much more.

12.	The most touching Japanese movie I have ever seen [Rating: 10/10] I'm not sure what a movie is doing in this DRAMA database, but all is forgiven because this movie was an absolute must-see! The plot was a little off the wall--Mio, a wife and mother, who passed away about a year ago, suddenly shows up during the rainy season as she promised. Her son and husband don't know how or why this happens, but they accept it without any questions because they missed her so much. The only catch is that she returns with amnesia and doesn't know who they are. The movie is mostly about her getting to know her family and gradually learning to love them, then having to say goodbye again. I was really touched by the seemingly one-sided love stories that the husband and wife told. The scenes between Takeuchi Yuko and Nakamura Shido are really touching as she finds herself falling in love with him. Never has a movie grasped my attention and pulled my heart strings so quickly as this one did and for that reason alone, I must give it the highest rating.

14.	Beautiful story [Rating: 9/10] I believe that this is very representative of a type of movie that the Japanese seem to be best at. They use science fiction or fantasy to introduce an element to a movie, but then just as an excuse to explore the characters and the relationships and the emotions. This movie is just like this. A beautiful story of a man, a woman and their son, with a touch of fantasy in it.
