1. Underated drama [Rating: 10/10]
I really hate it when people rate a drama based not on story or acting, but on how they like the main characters' face, or how they want who to end up with whom! Grow up already! Kanno Miho gave one of her better performances in this drama, portraying a wide array of personalities and emotions that a lesser actress with only a pretty face would never be able to match: Not many pretty-faced actresses can go from being extremely cute to extremely annoying, from extremely comic to extremely sad, all in the same scene! And Tamaki Koji (who wrote and performed the theme song, is a talented singer and song writer and was an idol himself back in his Anzen Chitai days), while not a professional actor, gave a reasonable and honest performance as an ordinary loving father thrust into extraordinary circumstances. The supporting cast, including the 3 cute kids, are also very effective in their respective roles. The story itself is a poignant and moving drama about life, death, love, loneliness and happiness. I finished all 10 episodes in one sitting, that's how much I liked it.

P.S. about the silly comment that the relationship between Kanno's and Tamaki's characters as being "disgusting", how can their relationship be disgusting when it's so pure and unconditional? I think their relationship is more beautiful than most of the relationships between pretty-faced actors and actresses in other shows.

2. Corny, but Fun [Rating: 7/10]
The first episode was grand. The cinematography was unique, the narration was gripping, and storyline was interesting. I became excited for this drama but was somewhat disappointed by the end of the third episode.

The show isnft bad. In fact, I found it sweet, endearing, and altogether enjoyable. It was just corny. Considerably so. This is one of those dramas to watch when youfre feeling like everything should go right and youfre not in the mood for conflict. This drama has no conflict.

Kanno Miho was so much fun to watch. This was my first experience with Tamaki Koji, and although his smile sometimes got on my nerves, I really liked him in this role. The children were adorable and the side cast (small) were grand. The big surprise for me was Wakui Emi! I wasnft extremely impressed with her in the one drama Ifve seen her in (Naguru Onna), but she completely captivated me here.

I would recommend this drama to anyone needing something easy to swallow while retaining a good storyline and solid talent.

3. Ai no Uta, not your common jdrama [Rating: 7/10]
Very good drama so far. Quite funny and entertaining, especially due to the acting talents of Kanno Miho and Wakui Emi. Starting around episode 9, it goes from sappy to really, really sappy. I think the bad ratings given so far are because there are no male characters of substance. Tamaki Koji is a one-dimensional character, as is Narimiya Horoki and Kohinata Fumiyo. This drama isn't a joke-a-minute, but the ones that are featured are a little more subtle than some of the over-the-top dramas. Watching Kanno Miho react to certain situations and her entire body language is funny. Best chemistry is between Miho and Emi's characters...Episode 7 is the major emotional payoff with the development and acceptance of Ai-chan's character.

4. Nice! [Rating: 9/10]
I really like this drama. The actors are not really good looking but they are very good in acting.Kanno miho is a good actress bc she can make me drop tears only with her facial expressions.I can feel how lonely and pity she is.Tamaki Koji also done a good job in this series. At first I can't accept this two person fall in love but at the end I really happy for both of them.My english is really bad but i force myself to write this review to defence this drama from bad person who do not reviewing this drama fairly.Give it a chance and in the end you can learn something from this drama.

5. Nice romance [Rating: 8/10]
A good drama overall, with a good set of actors - Miho Kanno and Emi Akui above the rest -, a nice storyline and good mix of romance, drama and a little comedy.
The acting of Miho Kanno is as good as usual with her strong and funny facial expressions.
The first 5-6 episodes are quite original and riveting, while the end of the story is more conventional, but by the time you get to these final episodes you've become accustomed to the acst, so you just want to continue with the story.
Overall a good underated drama, fun to watch.

6. Ai no uta worth watching [Rating: 9/10]
I really liked this drama. I do not agree with the other criticisms that I have read about it. Tamaki Koji, was far from 1 dimensional. Kanno Miho was brilliant in this. The awkwardness that she displayed especially early on trying to relate to the family who took her in was marvelous. Could not have been funnier. I also enjoyed the sometimes annoying but very cute character played by Wakui Emi. I enjoyed the whole series. It was not terribly original but was richly acted and had a lot of heart.

i forced myself to watch the beginning because of narimiya hiroki but i hate kanno miho's character and she is so boring. i cant stand it. the drama is too tiring as it goes back and forth. and miho falling for koji is disgusting.

9. Kanno Miho is sooo cute [Rating: 7/10]
This is heartwarming and the kids are soooo cute, especially the little boy. Kanno Miho has got the cutest voice, sounds like she has a block noise. My favourite part of this series is the theme song "Present".

I found this to be a moving drama with a very good cast and though at times parts of the story seemed a bit random or off pace I enjoyed it very much. The theme song was also fantastic too.

I had great expectations for this one, considering that two of my absolute favorite actresses (Wakui Emi & Kanno Miho) are in it. And indeed, the scenes with the two of them are the best part of this dorama, or should I say, the only part worth watching. Unfortunately in fact - given that it's a story which aims to be extremely (even, painfully) realistic - it turns out to be just the opposite! The plot twists are sooooo predictable, the characters bidimensional, the dialogues often idiotic, and the whole thing screams "faaaaaaaake" like the cheesiest of commercials (I won't go in details, so as to avoid spoilers, but let's take as a mere example the family dog, which no one takes for a walk in 10 episodes, and which also never barks, not even once. Just like one of those überfake dogs from a pet-food commercial, ne?). I'd define it "hollywoodian" (as in, fake-fake-fake!). Disappointing...:/
2. Comments by sadacori [Rating: 7/10]
The beginning of this drama had a lot of potential--a woman who wants to forget her abysmal past has the chance to change her life by pretending to have amnesia. Despite the title, I was hoping that it would have a slightly darker element, but it turned out to be more of a family drama.

After living with Kataoka, the cop who takes her in after thinking she has amnesia (and his family), the main character Ai changes from a troubled woman to a kind, loving person.

The result (without spoilers): I was thinking that someone would die and kept on waiting for that tearjerker moment, but it just ended abruptly as the characters lived day to day, waiting for the inevitable to happen. Not much of a closure to me and I should rate it lower, but I thought the rest of the drama was decent and the actors did a pretty good job, so..

I finished this in 2 Sundays... found myself really liking it a lot. I find myself in tears at the end of almost every episode, I probably get touched too easily ka na? XD Kanno Miho is sooo pretty, I want her big eyes and complexion, lol. Her character sounds horrid from the drama description but I found her to be likeable from the beginning even when she was being 'mean'. I love Wakui Emi's character, the female interactions were the best part. I'm ok with May-December pairings but Tamaki Koji looks very, very old here so it was a little bit weird, but I can deal. The 3 kids are so cute and endearing! Especially Dai-kun. Nari looks good enough to eat. *glomps*

This one is such a feel-good drama! The characters are not the most advanced, I'll admit, but they still gave me the feeling there was more to them than the drama presented. I think the cast was good as well, and I was moved by the development "Ai-chan" goes through as well as the warm and welcoming Kataoka family with friends. You get to see strenghts and weaknesses in all the characters - plus there's a lot of humor in the mix. I myself find this jdorama inspiring.

Its somewhat strange.... it doenst feel like a japanese dorama.

The plot is very good and original... the "flashbacks" r really sad.... altough i didnt like this dorama thaaaaat much i must say that this one is a good one, specially if one is tired of those "regular" doramas..... Wich is not my case.!

Its really worth watching. It shows that japanese doramas r not limited by those "comedy and tragedy" stories....
6. Comments by Tiffany [Rating: 7/10]
I've read a bunch of mixed reviews, but for me personally, I thought it was not a bad story! The pairing is definitely not from your average teen dorama, but I feel that they made it work. And this is the first time I found Miho Kanno to be actually quite pretty. The storyline is interesting and there are moments that tug at your heartstrings; the children are adorable~! The downside was the the story did drag.

Being that I really like Kanno Miho, of course I couldn`t resist watching this. So far.. not too bad. I love her character (which is ver unlike her) bt the story itself can get boring at times.

After completeing this, I must say while I cried at parts, it was not worth my time watching all that much. It wasn`t something I was lookig forward to see everyweek. But, the cast of actors makes up for the story..

Yet another redempt yourself light & slow drama. Little is going on for each episode and is sure to learn a lesson about life at the end. The cast is rather weak. The pace is rather slow. The producers want to contrast 's pessimism with the male lead's optimism. Yet can be best described as clueless rather than depressed, which is not so convincing. Incomplete.
9. Comments by IniQx [Rating: 8/10]
Thought that this drama is kinda under-rated. The story plot's not too bad...except for the unattractive male lead, so to say. Quite a heart-warming family-themed drama. Sadly, they really picked the wrong male lead. He looks too old to be a father of 3 young kids & for Miho to fall for him. Nonetheless, this drama is enjoyable.

Jan 2006: This drama has an interesting start,, however it gets boring towards half way and i'm begin to fed up with one episode one lesson thing, wondering when it will end =/........Thumbs up for both Miho Kanno and Wakui Emi though for delivering a great performance, it made the drama much more watchable.......

I thought Kanno Miho and Wakui Emi were excellent but I felt that the rest of the characters weren't too interesting... I like Tamaki Koji...but even though he's still in his 40s...he looked more like he was in his sixties so his scenes with Kanno were chotto kimochi warui...still worth watching though

A weak & predictable storyline about a neglected girl who gets accepted by a new family. The 2 leads didn't match & there were very few touching or funny moments. Still it wasn't that bad, I kind of enjoyed watching it. And the themesong was pretty nice. But it's not like I'm recommending it.

This show is pretty predictable and there weren't really any surprises at all ....I thought the Kanno Miho was charming..etc...but plot was pretty stagnant....ending was kind of sucky...but I guess in the Japanese culture there is this thing of older men fantasizing afer younger women....

Personally I can't understand the low ratings. I liked the story and watched the entire series in one sitting. Its definitely in my top 10 (for now). I found the development of Ai chan from a bitter and quite pathetic girl into someone who could learn to love quite touching.

Growing love + ending life + children and friends = ordinary drama; well made indeed.
Miho-chan very cute, at her manner; male character too old for her, but I'm a man so I can't fully understand women that fall for older people.

Watched it because of Namimiya Hiroki.
I didn't like the couples....so I don't really enjoyed this drama.
At first, it was very interesting, but around the end it get totally boring. So I also skipped some scenes...

I'm not really into family dramas but the first episode really got me hooked but after a while I guess it kinda got a bit too melodramatic for me and in the end it was like...blah haha but it was okay to watch once.

There were lots of laughs and touching moments in the beginning. Kanno Miho was very good, and Wakui Emi was very likeable. I like the middle parts too, but shelf the last few episodes for fear of disappointment.

wat i like most abt this drama are the casts...n the theme song...classic Tamaki Koji style...I think Wakui Emi did a great job being Fusako-chang...so adorable...its funny + it sure made me cry....huwaaaa...

I found this drama corny, but fun. The first episode was nicely created, and although the drama loses that style quite quickly, the plot and acting keeps you watching. Kanno Miho does a great job in this.

A cute story of a woman who had never experienced happiness. affection, or love. Finally deciding to end her life of misery she awakes in a hospital and taken in by an unlikely circumstance.
