SMAPxSMAP is a variety show hosted by the J-Pop group SMAP. The first half of the show is Bistro SMAP, where they divide into two teams and cook for a celebrity judge. The second half is different skits, games and a musical number.

I don't watch the other two shows that you listed though Shake Head

ok this post is gonna be long!

i love watching gakkou ni ikkou and sma sma a lot.

gakkou ni ikkou is a show hosted by V6 and sma-sma is hosted by smap. they are both variety shows. gakkou ni ikkou is kinda aimed at a sorta younger audience... (thats why its called let's go to school.)

gakkou ni ikkou- they play games like minorika rhythym 4... which pretty much are games you would play if you have a 15 minute recess at school. they have a part called b-rap high school which is funny because they are supposed to be able to rap but they never do. there is also part where they okada and morita have to figure out what certain katakana words mean... it really is a lotta diferent things. recently they have been doing a documentary style thing about innochi going back to high school... which was really important to him because he was too busy to finish when he was younger. they also have parts where they go into messy girls rooms... and they sorta things out at the studio and show how much stuff she's throwing away. really i recomend this show... and its hard to explain in words but it is funny.

sma-sma- the first half is bistro smap... where the smap guys cook food for guests. sometimes there are american guests... like will smith... and elijah wood. then there are parodies and things which are funny....there is this part with a dog named P-chan that i found was funny... and shingo does impressions of the soccer player david beckham... and the girl that plays victoria is funny. the also play games... (and make fun of tsuyoshi sometimes...) but really i recommend this show to... they sing at the end... sometimes their own songs and sometimes they sing with other artists.

i recomend both these shows... i rent them whenever they come in at the korean store by my house ^_^

Gakkou eh Ikou is a program hosted Mino Monta (host of the Japanese version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire) , J-pop group V6, and two girls whose names I can't remember. Basically they sit in the stuido with the audience and watch pre-recorded segments which feature V6 members. This show has been running for a while now and segments change over time. For example, a while back they had this game called "Doko irun deska", where V6 members pair up and try to get from point A to point B by asking people on the street where they are going and follow them accordingly. This segment is no longer running. "B-rap high school" is one of the current segments and feature a number of young people 'rapping' on the theme subject of the week. Usually two members of V6 provides commentary and talk to the performers via closed-loop TV monitor. A current favourite of mine is this segment where two V6 members go to the street to look for "morio" - guys who wear very colouful women's cloth, darken their skin (one way or another. they usually look tanned, but they also found two guys who applied black foundation on their face!), have very noticable hair colours and styles (usually spikes everywehre), and wear lots of cute accessories.

waratte ittomo is a show hosted by Shingo Katori of SMAP, but I've never watched it so i don't know what it's like. You can download some episodes of Waratte Ittomo and the latest episode of Gakkou at: http://inheavysyrup.com

i love the morio segment of [Gakkou e Ikkou] as well.. my fave morio is ta-bo, in fact.. ^^

oh yeah, kazanko, they are all variety shows, but arashi no wazaari tends to focus on the guys going out to play, more location scenes, while smapxsmap and waratte iitomo are more of studio shows.. gakkou e ikkou is one one more similiar to arashi no wazaari, with the celebs sitting in the studio watching members going out to play, cept that gakkou focuses more on the general public, with arawazari more on arashi thamselves..

- Gakkou e ikou
- SMAP x SMAP
- waratte ittomo

Well I watched Smap x Smap for the first time in japan because my mom and aunt were quite the fans.. and I watch ittomo in the mornings (well when I visit japan that is..) They're really good. Recently my mom rented Gakkou e ikou... I don't understand why it's e tho.. Gakkou ni ikou would mean lets go to school... but "e" ? .. Warratte Ittomo has been around for a while.. I'll be visiting again so I'll have to see what's it about.. but it's pretty much a talk show I believe and a man with sunglasses (that's how i remember him HAH) just hosts the show.. Awww and there's this other show.. (I bet it's boring) where there's this man and his little mascott is a lion with a green mane and tail and he carries around his HUGE dice.. Applaud I'll just hush....

I have a question also are these shows similar to the ones mentioned above?

Hey hey hey
Viva Viva V6

I'm assuming VVV6 is a variety show hosted by V6? Is Hey hey hey a variety show also?

I wish I could see some of these shows.

DT04:
Hey Hey Hey, is Hey Hey Hey! Music Champ. Its a bit like Music Station, hosted by 2 guys Hama-chan and DownTown. Usually features a few music artistes/groups, and the one that is music champ for the week will have the longer segment. Mainly interview and performance.

Yeah, Viva V6 is hosted by V6. I think I saw a bit of Viva V6. Not too sure its actual format, but that ep had some members of V6 out tasting ramen at various shops.

NoIdea073: "I don't understand why it's e tho.. Gakkou ni ikou would mean lets go to school... but "e" ?""

"e" is the same meaning as "ni" but can only be used for action verbs with direction like go, come, return. (ikimasu, kimasu, kaerimasu). Ni can be used more broadly to mean "to" in general.

Never really watched SMAPxSMAP, but the descriptions sounds a bit like Nama Arashi mixed with a touch of Ai no apron ^__^;; Not really D no Arashi since that features more out of studio segments.
And I really only watched the interview segments of Waratte Iitomo before when Tamori-san talks to a celeb, then have them call some other celeb? Though it does seem like it has some game sections, and other hosts.
