I agree The script is just great. I totally loved the drama. Shibasaki Kou is great. I liked both Shibasaki and Tsumabuki to begin with but I just liked them even more after watching Orange Days. As for my fave scenes, I am not going to go into details since i don;t want to spoil this excellent drama for anyone.

1. When Sae threw her shoe at Kai and asked if he cared
2. When Kai was about to drive Sae home because no one showed up for the beach trip, but got a call from Akane
3. The bike lock scene
4. When Sae went back to the preformance hall and played on the piano.

1)What causes Sae to leave to Germany by bus when she obviously likes Kai - eg., she found the drawing and ran to him! Is it out of jealousy from finding him with Maho?! I know its to go to the hospital but she runs away without seeing Kai AND gets engaged. Did the mother fuel the decision? I know she erased that memo on her cell phone - but anything else? Did she lie to Sae or to Kai?? Why else would she go to Germany and GET ENGAGED to someone else?! I can't believe it was *just* because of seeing Kai with Maho.

1b)what does she sign to Kai while leaving by the bus?

2)What is the significance of the blank, "0" letter? Was that sent by the mother or did the mother prevent their communication by letter in any way - I would have totally missed that. I get the feeling the mom is at fault for their misunderstanding! Does Kai send any reply letter? He wasn't ticked off by the "0" just kind of mistified, did he send replies?

3)When she returns from Germany Sae talks to Maho at the cafeteria and Maho says that Kai and Maho mean nothing to each other: Sae runs to Kai! What happens here that she gets upset at Kai (tossing papers etc) and yet still goes home and takes off the wedding ring (as if she now was rethinking of going back to Kai).

4)What does Sae write in the orange book during the graduation ceremony - and how does Kai know that she is around somewhere!

1) Sae went to Germany cause she thought that Kai and Maho rekindle their love together. Kai and Maho was on the way out of Kai's house to buy stuff when Sae saw them so she misunderstood then. Her mum just erase her message but she didn't lie to Sae/Kai. She told Sae afterwards what she had done.

2) They didn't really explain what the "0" stands for. It's written by Sae. But I think that it means that Sae had recovered her hearing or that she's fine in Germany.

3) She's was angry with Kai for not explaining the truth to her or something.

It has been a long time since I enjoyed jdorama so much.. orange days is excellent.. anyway just sharing few info on the story, answering some of your Q..

the orange book was taken by sae when she went to germany.. so when kai saw the orange book was backed in its place during the grad scene.. he knows that sae is around..

I hope they show this one on KIKU-TV, so's I can see it w/subtitles.

did anyone get to the episode when "they" appear at the beach? well, just try to pay attention at what Kai kun is wearing. i personally think it looks sexy...

hmm traditionally 'O' means success while 'X' mean failure? but i cant help thinking it could be the outline of an orange? i remember Keita explaining the name of their little club, how sweet or sour an orange can be.. likewise for Sae, that former cos the op is a success but the latter cos Kai isnt with her anymore then..

in japan, 0 always mean good or something like correct, i watched this in a jdorama about making sushi.

Orange road was an okay dorama but not as good as expected. I mean to folks who had seen noriko saikai in Heaven's coins would have to agree it was better. Though they are differnet genres, one is about high school progressing to adult life the other about sad adults in the medical world. But i feel that noriko pulled of the role better.

Then there were rumours in the production of orange road and i maybe wrong. But i heard that Shibasaki Kou wasn't the original choice for the character, Konishi Manami was. But Shibasaki came in half way after Konishi spent time practising for the main role hencefore rumours of bad blood.

This would also explain why Konishi's role was so small in the dorama though she is a star in a own right. Then there was Kashiwabara Takashi
who due to complications also couldnt assume a larger role in the dorama. These two could have starred in another dorama as their leads. But their presence provides a distraction to the story going on.

Plus there seem to be gaps in the plot. I may have bought a lousy version which they decided to cut off things. But what happened to Aida's sister after Aida was sent off, no mention was made. Also there was talk about his mother returing by the sister at one point but it was left in the air, nothing esle was said. Aida's model girl friend also seemed to disappear from the picture.

Just finished the whole drama...Great Show....personally luv it very much...especially kou...i really like her alot...she had perform very good in the character...can't get enough of her....hope she will have a new drama out soon....................

I cried that part when Shibasaki Kou was taking a bus to the airport and Tsumabuki Satoshi chasing after her....she tell him to be happy and said that she will not forget him by doing sign language...i really cried a lot at that part...so touching.....

OMG! Shibasaki Kou is so hot!
