Straight from the streets of Akihabara, www.akihabaranews.com/en provides news on the state-of-the-art and tomorrow's gadgets which unlikely we'll ever see outside Japan.
They have 2 reviews on the ultra-portables, Panasonic R3 and Sony Vaio X505 Carbon. Sweet looking portables also carry sweet price tags! For tech buffs, this site is a must visit!

dont know if u use this but for emergency like with 110 megs left. try to use
all programs > accessories > system tools > disk cleanup

generally if unattended the temp folders eat a lot of space.

Ah, disks are cheap and getting bigger all the time. I hear Hitachi is working on a 1TB drive due out in 2007 or so. I can't wait to put 4 of those in a box hehe

Nope. Filling a hard drive should not be bad for it.

Yup, though you should defragment the drive once in a while.

The defrag might not work if there isn't enough swap space... Sweat

If you absolutely can't wait (and don't mind burning holes in your wallet), check out Dynamism. They import electronics from Japan and give you domestic support.

Okay, have the new PC case, power supply, and case fans.

Holding off on ordering a video card, as the next generation video cards are due to be announced at Comuptex at the end of May.

Probably will order a 74 GB Raptor HDD, as I want fast boot times. Maybe one of those new 6x DL DVD burners from Pioneer.

Heck, if PC makers wanted, they could stick a flash card onto the motherboard with DOS. Like what Cisco does with routers.

Could you imagine if the onboard computer in cars took as long to boot up as Windows? Or if it took a minute to turn on a PDA? hehe
