I thought the leading lady in Prince's First Love was really an android they got to pretend to be a human when the real actress dropped out. I've rarely seen such a lack of acting talent, and I don't know how a woman can be considered beautiful who never changes her facial expression. It's like looking in Macy's store window and falling in love with one of the mannequins. I also thought the plot was embarrassingly witless, especially the ending, which had about as much spark as a wet match.
oh, i hated her!!! such an indecisive person!!! i sat there, wondering, ummm....weren't you crying a minute ago? _________________

LOL. Basically. Only My Sassy Girl is a movie. Let's see, typical plot for a K-Drama:
Girl and Boy meet at a young age.
Girl moves away to the States, Boy is heartbroken
Girl comes back after many years, Boy is engaged to someone else.
Girl and Boy fall for each other again.
Before getting married, they find out they are half siblings.
Girl gets a terminal illness (most likely leukemia), Boy curses the world.
Girl dies dramatically, but still manages to look beautiful despte being sick.
Boy reflects on what happens then later gets into an accident (most like getting hit by a car)
sounds like three or four korean dramas rolled into one...
right now, going to watch the hardsub'd Freeze that just came out(hardsub'd that is...), my first k-drama in a long long time, and the girls are so cute, i also like Korean girls....

Lee Young-ae did a great job in Jewel in the Palace! Really want to see Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, I'm not sure, I think the movie won for Best Picture in France.

I watched Sympathy for Lady Vengeance and it was totally scary gory etc. I had nightmares.
I'm watching Dalja's Spring now on KBSWorld. Last night was episode 13 but I missed a lot of episodes in between because it comes on late at around 9 P.M. My favorite is still Lovers in Paris, Stairway to Heaven) butits so freaking sad), Princess HOurs and so many more.
But right now my obsession is jdorama. I spent two years from late 2004 to 2006 being totally into kdrama . I started with Lovers in Paris but now jdorama is my thing. _________________

I'm not a big Lee YoungAe fan...but some of my co-workers have met her during a presscon in Singapore for one of the products she was endorsing and she they say she was actually very nice, humble and accommodating. Even the local TV reporters that interviewed her gave the same feedback.
These same reporters also got to interview Song HeKyo with Rain during a promo for Full House, and they say that while Lee YoungAe was nice, HeKyo was the exact opposite. While the cameras where rolling she would be very polite and nice, but in between takes she acted really bored, showed no interest on the interviewers and was generally very snobbish. Rain on the otherhand was very quite, since there was a language barrier, but nevertheless, he kept on smiling even though he was silent. _________________

I wrote a review for "Autumn Tale," my least favorite K-drama ever. I think I'll post if here for fun. I'll put spoiler tags just in case some people haven't seen it yet.
Drama: Autumn Tale (Autumn in My Heart, Autumn Story)
Director: Yoon Suk Ho
Cast: Song Seung Hun, Song Hye Kyo, Won Bin
Genre: Drama, Romance
Network: KBS
Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:
"Autumn Tale" is a love story about Joon-Suh and Eun-suh who grow up believing they are siblings. It is soon discovered, however, that Eun-suh is not blood-related at all to Joon-suh. She was in fact switched at birth with a different baby girl. After this discovery, Eun-suh is returned to her biological mother while Joon-suh and his family move to the States. Ten years later, Jun-suh returns to Korea and is reunited with Eun-suh. The story revolves around what happens after they fall in love with each other.
A friend of mine recommended this drama to me, saying, "Oh it's so good. It's a must watch!" Well, three episodes into the show I caught the overall drift of what's going to happen. While I love the main actors in this show, oh goodness, this over-cliched, predictable sap of a drama goes on my "Never Watch Again" shelf. While others my thrive in love story sorrow and heartbreak, it's definitely not my thing. The main problem I had with this drama was the story. I mean, how predictable can it get? Especially factoring in the whole cancer scenario. The "incest" factor didn't bother me as much as it did other people. Technically, they weren't related by blood, but the drama itself suggests that they have been in love with each other their entire lives. In the context of this mindset, it's really disgusting.
Song Hye Kyo is the epitome of the ideal, angelic heroine in this show. While I pity her character and all the horrible scenarios she had to go through, Song held her own and gave a decent performance. Won Bin's character is the typical guy-who-can't-get-girl supporting role, but his character does redeem himself towards the end of the show. In fact, his character compelled me to finish this drama. Song Seung Hoon's character, on the other hand, wanted me to vomit. Such a self-pitying, selfish, wuss of a character. I love Seung Soon Hoon and all, but I hope he stays away from more dramas like this.
I know many people who loved this show but as for myself, I'm staying away from it. I guess a few of you can tell that if I did not enjoy this drama, I probably would not have liked the other counterparts ("Winter Sonata," "Summer Scent," "Spring Waltz"). You would be right to a certain degree, but this drama is the worst of the bunch.

You should watch "What star are you from" and "Fantasy Couple", because both of them are not typical Korean Drama.
Yesterday, I just finished downloaded "Love story in Harvard".

Watched Full House and enjoyed it. So, i thought the other Kdoramas will be great to watch! WRONG!!! Didnt enjoy most of the dramas especially : Autumn in my heart, winter sonata and SAD LOVE SONG/SAD LOVE STORY Lots of crying involved, SLOW and most of all BAD ENDING!!No more K-dorama for me!
Korean movies are better i guess - Arahan, My sassy girl, 100 days with Mr Arrogant..etc..
and maybe i didnt enjoy the Kdramas as there are too many episodes too watch!

LOL. Well, most of the dramas you watched are the sad, depressing ones. I usually stay away from those. I'm all for the happy, comedic dramas, and there are a few good ones. After watching Autum Tale and Stairway to Heaven, I told myself to never watch those dramas again. Omgosh, Sad Love Story! They weren't kidding about the sadness. When they mean sad, they mean it. That ending was crap. I hated that ending so much.
I don't watch too many Korean movies but I liked the ones I have seen. My Sassy Girl and My Wife is a Gangster was really hilarious. A Moment to Remember was also good, but that one's a tear jerker. _________________

Kmovies that I like so far: My Little Bride (funny teenager movie), Daisy, and Il Mare (the Korean version of "he Lake House" I like this version better, I guess because the ending makes senses. I was lost when I saw The Lake House).
Chiba: Yes, I agree that Kdramas are really long. That is one of the reasons I watch Jdrama, now. But the new Kdramas are shorter though, 10 -16 episodes. May be, I will watch it, someday.
I like My Girl & Goong.
Lee Dong Wook(MG) and Ju Ji Hyun(Goong) are very cute in this drama..
I am currently watching "Snow Queen" because of Hyun Bin..
The Story is very sad & very tragic but i really like it...
