No way! I don't think Kirakira is strong enough to stand up to Kekkon Dekinai Otoko's backwash.
Who knows. I might not have been so hard on Oishii Puropozu if I hadn't just watched Kekkon.
I'm thinking maybe I'll try "Maison Ikkoku" . I'm not an Itoh Misaki fan, and the story looks kind of lame. I might just feed that one in as the next sacrificial lamb.
Heck, after watching Yasashii Jikan I had to stop watching dramas altogether for a couple of weeks. I burned off my whole back log of movies before I could go back to dramas and watch them without comparing them to Yasashii. _________________

Maison Ikkoku is just a 1 time thing, roughly 2 hours long. If you're not a fan of the manga/anime, it might take you a while to realize the subtle charms of the drama. Don't judge it before actually watching it. _________________

Finished Karei-Naru Ichizoku on Tuesday... to say the last episode was a tear jerker is a MAJOR understatement. It's one of the few dramas that left a strong impression on me, I don't finish many dramas and keep thinking about them it was the ending that really got me. Really sad but also really good (can't believe she just said that) sadness aside it was really good.
Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:
I knew that it would emerge that Teppei was his Grandpa's son after the flash back in the first ep.
I knew he would commit suicide in the end because I read spoilers online
What I DIDN'T see coming was at the end when the death certificate came in and it emerged that Teppei's original blood test was incorrect he was B type and not A which made it impossible to be his Grandpa's son.
Which meant his death was for nothing it was heart breaking, it really upset me.
Yesterday I did some catching up with Liar Game love that show, I watched eps 3,4 &5 now I'm waiting NOT so patiently for 6 to download darnit
Also I started watching Pride again yesterday ^_^ needed to see KimuTaku in a more upbeat show after The Wealthy Family _________________
It was artless. Soulless. Pointless. And I want to say "empty" but I'm not sure what that means when trying to describe a drama.
Kyoko Hasegawa was in it, and that alone should have been enough to keep me happy. But in truth, watching her in this show was like watching Secratariate dragging a plow through a muddy field.
That pretty much reflects my sentiments about this drama. Our local channel is on a really bad Sunday drama streak. No wonder they make them so dark, they must be embarrased at foisting such junk on us.
Although the drama following Oishii Proposal was a lot better... Fake Bride.
Now though we are wallowing in the mud again with that dumb "Machine Gun Girl" thing once again broadcsting in KSCI special dark and darker non viewable detail colors.
They must get a discount rental fee on these sub C minus minus minus dramas.

I know. I gobbled it up the day you posted it. Watched a few minutes... and because I'm not a manga reader, and I dislike anime, it's just sorta been sitting on my HD waiting for me.
But that's the point. Knowing that I'm not a manga/anime fan, my expectations for that one are very low to start with. If I can get some enjoyment from it... great! If not, I won't be too disappointed.

Is "Machine Gun Girl" The one about the High School Girl who becomes the Boss of the itty-bitty Yakusa gang?
Ooofff. That was bad.
I've been collecting the hard subbed episodes of "Fake Bride" at D-Addicts and it looks really good. But only a couple of episodes have been released so far, so it'll be a while before I get to see it. (I don't like to start watching a show until I have all the episodes.)
It's nice to know you enjoyed it. _________________

She was grand in Kimi wa Petto. The role fit her perfectly. She's completely different in Engine, tho, so if that's what you're looking for that I'm sure you'll be satisfied.
Actually, that's exactly what I was looking for. I loved her in Kimi wa Petto, but I wanted to see her do something different. And since MatsuJun isn't in Engine, it's bound to be better Only joking

I hope KimuTaku doesn't turn you off in this to the point where you won't watch anything by him again. I mean, I don't usually judge until I've seen at least two dramas of an actor... unless they're really REALLY bad.
I have no preconcieved notions on KimuTaku. He's very popular, but also seems to be a good actor... and there are some who don't like him at all. So i'll just watch and see

That's the one. Yes... very bad. I think it's only about 7 episodes. They always cut the first episode in half to get more commercials in which is why it stretches out one extra week.
Fake Bride has some good acting and plot development in it.

I guess I'm one of the few who actually loved Pride.
My mom just got into the Kimutaku craze. I made her watch Beautiful Life and now she loves him. It's her first J-drama, since she's only been watching K-dramas before.
I agree with the many others that replied to this, Pride is a great- no, Fantastic drama!!! XDDDD Kimu and Yoko had my favourite on screen chemistry in any dorama I have ever seen they were so sweet to watch. Pride is one of my faves of his... but then I like most of his shows, it's his chemistry with the rest of the cast that pulls me in and he's generally in romantic dramas (and I am a sop )
On Topic: Liar Game 6 FINALLY downloaded so I can get around to watching it whooo!!! Now I need to start downloadin 7 wish my compy would speed up *kicks it* _________________

Ah okies good. I thought I read you hating on him once but I could be mistaken. He's a league above MatsuJun, so even if you don't like him, you'll at least appreciate Koyuki as his opposite.

Just finished ep 3 of Jouu no kyoshitsu...Yuki Amami is starting to freak me out by how good she is... I didn't think she could top her work in Enka no Jouu, but only 3 eps into this one, she just might...Love the the dance sequence at the end of each ep...Yuki has definitely got pro dancer moves! _________________

Yeah, I really liked this one. But that dance sequence kind of freaked me out, it's so out of character with the rest of the drama. Kind of like they're saying, "It's fiction guys, she's not REALLY the teacher from hell." And I don't know who did the casting, but you've got about 20 kid actors, and they're all good!
Edit: And Sachie Hara has the greatest smile in all of Dorama land

runpup,
Now now. How can you go around comparing Ken-chan to Verdell?
You know, that Verdell was only in it for the bacon.
Whereas, Ken-chan, though initially interested in the cucumbers, developed a true affection for, and understanding of, Kuwano-san. There was a true bond there.
I don't know if I'd say he was the best thing about the show... but he probably had the best part. No lines to memorize, and he got to spend a lot of time in Ryoko-chan's lap. _________________
