it was decent show tho'....Koi ni Ochitara....Nao was pretty good in it...it was my first time seeing her act.

i liked it Big Grin . didn't take more than a weekend to finish.

tho i must say Koi no Ochitara shouldn't be the title at all. that "Success" title thing is better. i didn't really focus on the lovey-dovey

I watched the first episode of Shopping Hero/ Tsuhan-Man (like just a second ago) and REALLY enjoyed it :XD
It amused me and the main guy was so sweet and likable, I'm going to have to watch the rest now! (Though they only have up to ep 4 on Crunchyroll so I'm gonna struggle after that Puppy Dog Eyes )

Finished with Hotelier. It went off surprisingly smoothly, because I approach it with ultra low expectations and it didn't sink any lower...
Now in the middle of Liar Game Thumbsup.

Thanks to Brother Beemer, I started Jodan Janai! last night...

Now I just have to keep chanting; You can't judge a show by one episode...You can't judge a show by one episode...You can't judge a show by one episode...

Lots of good, talented people in this one.

Way to early to have an opinion.

Really.

Considering the cast, I'm gonna try to repress my judgemental streak until at least the half way point.

With this cast, I'd normally agree; but I gave up after 3 episodes because I didn't see any signs of it getting better. 3 episodes is my normal threshold (unless the 1st ep. is really really bad), as I watch a lot of dramas each season and have to pare them down quickly. Someone mentioned about opportunity cost; imo if there's signs that the drama will get better, then I won't mind continuing since the time spent watching the previous episodes is considered 'sunk cost'. Otherwise I do agree that opportunity cost then comes into play.

I probably missed a few good dramas with this strategy, but I'm sure I'd also saved a lot of time from watching those which I think I'll ultimately not enjoy (plus I can always check the consensus afterwards and re-watch the ones that I'd miss-judged).

This is Kimura's latest drama and it truly deserves your attention...I'm not a big Kimura fan but he impressed the hell out of me on this...
Huge production values as well in this drama...they spent some money on this one...
super cast with an new actor (to me) playing Kimura's father, if he doesn't drive you crazy with his machinations to defeat his son...nothing will...

I have not seen this dorama, primarily because I am not a Kimura fan; however your description of the father piqued my curiosity, so I went to this site's description of this series. I believe you are referring to Kinya Kitaoji. Since he is new to you, let me inform you that Kinya Kitaoji is a very very famous actor in Japan, specializing in jidaigeki (period) movies/ TV series. For much of his long successful career which I believe has spanned at least five decades, he has been a leading man and is much respected as an actor.

His performance along with others....were very compelling in Karei-naru...I liked it...set in postwar Japan during the rapid industrialization of the Japanese economy provided for a very interesting backdrop

Just finished Yasashii Jikan Boy was that great!!! Applaud Some people complained about the pace, WTF??? For the story they were trying to tell, the pace was perfect. Plus the backdrop in Hokkaido, great jobs by all the actors (especially Akira Terao and Kimiko Yo Applaud ) Not quite as emotional as Beautful Life but pretty darn close. Big thumbs up from me Thumbsup

Thank you so much for this information...just goes to show how little you can count on Jdorama for good info...
I was very impressed by Kinya Kitaoji's performance in this drama...I call him the Great Stone Face in this but you can sense the raging emotion underneath...how fascinating to see him break through at the end...
Even if you're not a Kimura fan...this drama is worth your while...
