Right. He worked as a waiter and a mover during the daytime, and worked as a cashier at a convenient store late at night.
His pay was lower than his rent, so he had to continue his extra jobs even after Waterboys was released. But now he's providing for his family.

i miss this thread... its been a while.... our country was hit by a strong typhoon so my server is down for more than two weeks......
ive read the replies i missed..... so tamaki kun is living with her mother and a dog.... and he is helping his family financially..... i never thought helping out the family financially is also done in japan..... in the philippines its usual to do that, but in japan, i think its the first time i heard such thing. i dont want to offend anyone, its ny own opinion and observation. tamaki kun is such a good guy eventhough it doesnt show on his face. |

He's just started shooting this month. So, unfortunately, we'll see a skinny captain on screen...  He said,"I'll try my best to express the emotions of people facing difficulties during the war."
I feel negative about the news because I don't like war movies and I don't know much about the co-stars(Hiraoka Yuta, Douchin Yoshikuni, etc.) |

Hiroshi Tamaki stars in naval epic "Manatsu no Orion"
Mon, July 14, 2008 (1:59am EDT)
Actor Hiroshi Tamaki is taking the lead in an upcoming suspense film titled "Manatsu no Orion," directed by Tetsuo Shinohara. Based on the novel "Raigeki Shindo Juukyuu-ten-go" by Tsukasa Ikegami, the movie is set near Okinawa during World War II. While the main focus is a naval battle between a Japanese submarine and an American destroyer, the film also portrays the personal relationships among those involved.
Tamaki plays the warm-hearted captain of the submarine.@His close friend and colleague is being played by CHEMISTRY's Yoshikuni Dochin, who is making his acting debut with this role.
Toho and TV Asahi are involved in production. Filming started on July 1, and next month some scenes will be shot in the U.S. using a preserved WWII-era destroyer. Theatrical release is scheduled for 2009.

by the way, in that movie, "Manatsu no Orion" , is it goin to be an action movie like band of brothers or lil bit of love story involving chicks ...?
i've heard tht he will begin to shoot in US sometime in august. and i've heard from somewhere as well tht he is goin to be a skinny capitan.OH no bring my chiaki senpai back man...

| Oh my god I just realised he's in the film waterboys!! And he plays Sato!! I can't believe I didn't realise until now! I love waterboys, I've seen it sooo many times and I didn't know it was him until now hah.. Man, he's lost a lot of weight.. he looks totally different from when he did waterboys, ne? |

wonder if someone has mentioned this before... just found out in a fan blog an interview with Tamaki-kun regarding his thin body. he said that it is because of the movie 'Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi':
"I started dieting in November in order to act Deer-man and I've drop 8 kg off my weight. I've been forbidden from eating yakiniku (a kind of grilled meat) my favorite food. So now I'm completely a grass-eating animal."

Yes, of course. I translated it.
Ifve been enjoying watching the DVD of Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi with commentary. Itfs soooo interesting and funny! Tamaki-kun and other casts talk about a lot of episodes behind the scenes. Ifve watched it over and over again.
In the DVD we can also see the interview with Tamaki-kun. He said he had continued meatless diet to drop his cheeks off during the shooting. He seemed to genjoyh looking like a deer. The three main actresses laughed many times saying gTamaki-sanfs face is so funny!@He really looks like a deer without the mask!h.....I laughed out too. |

Sorry, not in particular...All I know is he first appears in Atsuhime on August 31.
Many people say Nodame comic is heading gradually to the end. (But they don't think it will end this year. Some people think it will end early next year. Nobody knows but Ninomiya-sensei ) All of us are expecting that we can hear the announcement of the Nodame Final(?) as soon as the comic finishes. |
