Is about slow food vs fast food , Japanese traditional culture, great cinematography, being steadfast in your passion for something and not be easily swayed, Aoi Yu, comedy, alittle romance. I dunno, but some people have been saying the pace is slow and is kinda boring, if you like food and you want something comforting to watch after a long day, this is it.
Oh, do you guys read Chinese? I am watching episode 5 now and expecting 6 this week. Chinese fansubs are much faster. _________________

I second that opinion. Really, this drama has been quiet good up to the latest episode. I myself enjoy much watching people's expression when tasting the so called original slow food of Japan, and of course Aoi Yuu! She really can act and I just feel that the role of okami fits her very much.
It kind of reminds me of Yakitate Japan (manga), but this drama shows more moderate facial expression (of course!) and it revolves around wide variety of Japanese food, not limiting to bread.
Oh ya, btw, ep6 was hilarious, with story bout Osen having an accidental omiai (arranged wedding) |

SPOILER about ep 6 AHEAAD!
| Spoiler (highlight text to read): | Lol, I was dying from anticipation to watch ep6, it was pretty good, but it was also alittle disappointing because i thought Uchi might be alittle jealous with the guy from the omiai but in fact he was so encouraging. Seems like Osen and Uchi's relationship will become purely platonic in this drama.
Also find it abrupt that the omiai guy suddenly rejected Osen when he've been giving giving her positive signals. Odd.
And it also didn't explain why her previous boyfriend says that "all she
does is cooking."
What do everyone thinks? |
Yola, i sympathise. I wanna go learn Japanese to watch all the great Japanese drama and anime and manga without waiting! _________________

To understand chinese is also a big advantage, ne?... chinese subs are faster than english subs!
I'm learning japanese! But understanding just the half of everything isn't the true thing ~ |

I'm enjoying Osen. I'm watching subs from Eitokickass. I like the slow pace almost innocent feel to the drama. I'm watching Code Blue and Last Friends so it's a nice change from those.
The food and scenery is amazing |

One of my favorite doramas this past Spring. If you like traditional Japanese food and feeling good this one's for you. I recommend having a beer *Asahi Super Dry* served in a frosty mug while watching. |

i'd understand if someone found it boring... I personally love it a lot, but if you're looking for action, super-funny scenes or a thrilling plot in whatever way, this is probably not the right thing for you.
If you wonder what's left: that would be a great cast, sweet charas and there's something special to it - at least I think so.
You know Yasashii Jikan? It somehow reminds me of that one ... ^^ |
