Probably not right now, but you can't stop progress. I have no doubt that in the not too distant future 250Gb will be average. Remember when a 20mb hard drive was state of the art?

Your point is well taken. Yes!

Even if AT&T instituted a cap like Comcast, my sorry wireless connection guarantees I won't even reach 10GB. I'll have to look into getting a new wireless card, or a longer network cable.

Aside from that, moving stuff around with a pinched nerve in my lower back really sucks. Grumble

<sigh> I routinely approach 250 gb combined bandwidth. This is catastrophic!

Dang, you guys. What speed is this connection? I couldn't download that much if I was downloading 24/7 Grumble Nor do I have the HD space for it all Wink

BTW my 60G is split into 12G midday/midnight, 48G midnight/midday.

Actually, it's 64G, with the first figure 16G, now.

Comcast is really fast and I have downloaded a ton in the past year- filled up two external hard drives.

I've cut down on downloading a lot but my brother still plays WoW nearly 24 hours a day. I wonder how much bandwidth that uses.

I get peak downloads at about 1.25 megabytes/sec, so 10 mbit. Still slow by developed world standards. Uploads at about 350kilobytes/sec. It's somewhat bidirectional, so I figured a max throughput of 1.4 megabytes/sec.. or 3661 gigabytes max throughput in a 31 day month.

I wish our bandwidth was limited only during peak hours - that makes so much more sense.

Online gaming doesn't use much bandwidth, it's more ping times they are looking for (the time it takes for data to reach its destination) which surprisingly doesn't relate much to the speed of your connection.

What about uploading? My brother uploads a lot of videos of himself onto Youtube. I think my downloading uses the most though... Bang Head

Depends on your ISP / provider... mine doesn't count uploads, but most do. Youtube videos have to be fairly small in size too.

Wow. 2 external HDs? I still haven't filled up one with all the downloading I've been doing. I guess I'm not that much of a compulsive downloader than I thought.

Are you rolling your eyes in the back of your head? Bleah How the heck does it move there? And what brand is it?

On topic: I'm hungry and I have no food and I'm too lazy to shop. Man, I wish there were grocery deliveries here.
