I didn't think you'd actually be dumb enough to do it, tho. Ahhhhhh Nasu-chan, you always were a weak one.

| Here's a Japanese/KFC story: In Osaka, the have a baseball team called the Hanshin Tigers. Tigers fans are the most fanatical in all of Japanese baseball. In 1986 the Tigers won the Japan Series for the first time in something like 20 years. Afterwards, fans throughout Osaka were celebrating. There's a river that runs thru Osaka, and a bunch of fans (very much under the influence) were celebrating. They would call out the name of one of the Tigers' players then they would look around and whoever they thought most resembled the player mentioned would jump in the river. If he didn't want to jump, they would "help" him. The Tigers had an American player named Randy Bass. At some point during the revelry, somebody yelled, "Randy Bass!!" No one in the crowd looked like Randy, but there was a KFC right across the street and it had a statue of the Colonel out front. That was close enough for them. They ran over, torn down the statue and threw it in the river. This raised a HUGE stink. How could these people go over to a private business and do this?!!? They went so far as to send divers down into the river to try to recover the statue, but they never found it. Eventually KFC sent over a new statue. As a result, some people say the Tigers suffer from "The Curse of the Colonel" and they will never win another championship until the statue that was torn down is returned. It's been 22 years and the Tigers have yet to win another championship. |
