Is there anything you could recommend me, if I like "Majo no Jouken"?
I already saw "Kou Kou Kyoushi" in both versions and am currently watching "Koishite Akuma".
It doesn't have to be a teacher/student lovestory. I'm fine with anything else about forbidden love. Dancing

Now that you say it, we didnLt have the terminally ill/pure love plot for a while.

This springLs Smile could perhaps do the trick? I havenLt seen it snce I donLt like the actors!

I can think of a few tear jerkers without the "romantic" element. I havenLt started Shiroi Haru but some jdorama members were moved to tears. Daisuki and Kaze no Garden could be options.

Good calls!
Thanx Estherm, Beem and xploring. That was very helpful.

If rich girl/poor guy is "forbidden love", then count me in! w00t!

Don't forget Bus Stop. It's an older one, but worth watching. "NATSOU-SAAAAAN!!!" rofl

As far as Tiger and Dragon goes, I think my enjoyment of it was enhanced a lot by having spent a lot of time in Japan and familiarizing myself with certain aspects of the culture. I realize it isn't for everyone, but I thought it was something...I dunno, uniquely Japanese XD.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying my summer of drama marathoning. Hopefully once I finish I can come back to you guys to stock up on more recommendations. I suppose as an advance notice, I should mention that I've seen a lot of big time famous ones, but wouldn't mind seeing some "hidden jems" or not so famous ones that are pretty good. As a side note, Sano Shiro helps. =P

If you wish to view more rakugo-themed works, I would recommend the Asadora series Chiritotechin and the movie Shaberedomo Shaberedomo, both of which came out in the last couple of years.

Can anyone recommend me some school Jdrama?

Like LIFE, Nobuta wo Produce and Queen's classroom (idk the real japanese name of the drama), I've watched all of those, so I'm asking you is there any Jdrama like those? It can be about bullying, friendship, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Haha, Sano Shiro is my favorite actor! Maybe I should change back to my original avatar:

Ok, I'm only going to recommend Sano Shiro dramas. I'll let others recommend whatever they think is good.

~ Aoi Tori - I thought this was an average drama, but many people liked it. Sano Shiro was great in this one (not to mention he looked good too)
~ Dare ni mo Ienai - Great drama if you can find it. This is probably his most insane role.
~ Double Kitchen - Probably the best of the mother/daughter-in-law dramas. Nogiwa Yoko is the quintessential evil MIL. Shiro is a quirky player in this one (forgot his role)
~ Kuitan 1&2 - you probably saw this, but I have to throw this in the list.
~ Shiawase no Shippo - It was an ok drama, but I liked it. It shows Shiro's silly side.
~ Sono Ki ni Naru Made - Kind of a mature drama, but it has funny moments

Hope this helps! Big Grin

Thank you very much! I'm excited to see a lot of those. If only I could find Dare ni mo Ienai, though. It looks really great (and the sexy avi got me interested, if that's what it's from) but nowhere to be found.

Yes, that was a screencap from that show. I got it from this youtube clip (it shows a little of how insane this show was): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9WzjKw_1aU

I want to watch something like this too. hehe

Maybe Medaka?

I was going to recommend Churasan but there are some unrealistic plot there, although not "too" unrealistic for me.

The following haven't been mentioned on this thread in quite some time, but they generally fit your parameters and will not make you puke or forswear watching dorama forever:

Shomuni seasons 1 and 2

Renai Kekkon no Hosoku

Oyaji

Suekko Chounan Ane San Nin
