From Yahoo! Movies ( http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/movie-talk-rotten-tomatoes-100-worst.html ):
The Decade's Worst Movies
Excerpt:
So what wound up being the worst of the worst? That honor goes to the 2002 explosion fest "Ballistic: Ecks Vs. Sever," starring Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu. The movie -- which earned a rare 0% freshness rating -- was described by critics as being "an ungainly mess," "loud and boring," "flat, stale, confusing and lazy," and "a picture for idiots." Though the flick damaged but didn't completely ruin both Banderas' and Liu's careers, Thai-born director Wych Kaosyananda (aka Kaos) hasn't directed a movie since.
Here's the bottom ten from RottenTomatoes's "Worst of the Worst":
10. Witless Protection (2008)
9. Redline (2007)
8. 3 Strikes (2000)
7. Strange Wilderness (2008)
6. Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 (2004)
5. National Lampoon's Gold Diggers (2004)
4. King's Ransom (2005)
3. Pinocchio (2002)
2. One Missed Call (2008)
1. Ballistic: Ecks Vs. Sever (2002)

No thanks. |
Never liked Astro Boy. He always cried when he couldn't save those sorry little earthlings in time. He died in the anime and it was good.

I thought she was terrific in The Lady Eve.

The new movie? I just saw it on DVD. Thought it was horrible.

Anytime "Ninja" or "Assassin" is in the title of a movie, it'll bomb. Have both and you've discovered the secret formula for "suck".

As with all movies and dramas, different people will have different opinions. I found the directing very amateurish, like a high budget tv movie. The cinematography looked like the operator was drunk and they tied his hand to the the camera. The editing looked like the guy was chasing speed with Red Bulls. Poor flow. I am well aware of the "alternate reality" of the story and it didn't bother me as I'm not a "purist". But I found the writing to be atrocious. Like a combination of fanboys and twelve year olds who put no thought into it. Blatant plot convienences one after the other. And endless whining. The writing of the characters and plot was like a Saved By The Bell episode. I felt they took all intelligence out of a Star Trek movie, and made it into a dumb action movie that catered to the teeny-bopper crowd: Saved By The Bell in Space.

^ Like politics, we can't agree on this.
I liked the revisionist approach to the Star Trek canon. I've always been a sucker for the time travel/time-space continuum plot line and though it's not as good as The Voyage Home's time travel story, it's still quite good... And the best Star Trek movie since The Voyage Home.
