I have been desperately looking for this series on dvd or vcd with english subtitles. I recently bought a copy online and it was a terrible. It was a copy of a vhs copy transfered onto dvd. I wouldn't have minded, but there was so much static in the video. If anyone has a clear copy for sale or know where it can be found, please contact me asap. I'm trying get it as a Christmas gift. Any response is deeply appreciated.

I don't think you can get a clear copy. I think I read somewhere that the authentic DVD release for the series (without subtitles) is scheduled some time next year. I also have VHS-quality DVDs for this series. They are not too bad in my opinion, considering DVD might not even exist when this series aired.

This dorama aired on KTSF way back when ( possibly in LA and Hawaii, too ) so I would think only a VHS copy exists out there. Any dorama that was available for sale back then was in VHS box sets. I suppose it's possible laser disc or even bootleg VCD existed but I wouldn't count on it. It would be nice if some of these old series from the mid to late 90s were re-released on DVD. Wow, 15,348 Yen??? It ain't cheap.... And the price doesn't include (international) shipping, either. Time to start saving up.

That's quite normal, actually on the cheap side with the discount. I am not going to buy it of course, or any other series from Japan .

I suppose if you wait long enough, someone will rip the video from the DVDs and make torrents available...
