7.8% is a record low for Taiga drama; maybe partly affected by Olympics coverage, which has 22.5% ratings.
I hope you're right. It's bad, but it's not THAT bad. It's better than "Gou", how could it not be! I notice some dramas (" Higashino Keigo Mysteries " to name one) have taken the week of the Olympics off. Maybe "Taira no Kiyomori" should have done the same.

At least there were some light moments in 'GOU' and the richest episodes were when Oda Nobunaga was still around. The supporting cast held up any ratings that existed.
Kiyomori on the other hand is getting so depressing and so violent. It is showing the worst side of what the samurai life was in those early days. Once again the lead is not helping matters. The supporting cast is doing the job of acting.
