So did I. So we could look upon the madness from above. I had a Green Tea Frappacino, for some reason it tasted way better than the same drink here in the States. Could have been a placebo effect.
It's the ambiance, not the frapuccino... Gray water would've tasted good in Japan.
I wasn't as lucky as Toshi-kun to see the Sakura in Ueno Park. It was still a nice walk, though.
The benefits of waking up really early: near empty station!
We stumbled onto this marketplace when we were walking to Ueno Park. Later I found out it's called Ameyoko, a very busy, typical "asian" market. Because we were there so early, the rush hadn't arrived yet.

Nice pics! It appears you had an abundance of good weather. Cool shots. I saw the Saigo Takamori statue as well. Love those types of markets. There are always so colorful, literally and figuratively.

Yeah well it rained off and on while I was there as well. The day I went to Ueno Koen it drizzled a bit but nothing could blunt my enthusiasm for the sakura in full bloom. It was glorious.

Thanks! I got distracted by Meitante no Okite, but now I'm back to watching it. On episode 10 now. It's really refreshing to watch a drama starring people my age.
Also, the friend I'm staying with has bought tickets for a bird (–kŽR—L‹I) concert in Tokyo on the 23rd. She's my favorite jazz singer. My favorite female singer of any genre, really.

This is the mall I was at when I felt a tremor. It was a small earthquake that sorta went unnoticed. The next day, when we drove to Hakone, Japan suffered a large Earthquake that made the news. Can you believe it? I missed it be ONE day.
On a side note, this mall has everything NERDY! I LUFFED it!
We weren't allowed to take pictures inside of the Maid Cafe, but here are two that I took (all sneaky) of the food I ordered. It was a very cute pancake, but the taste was... meh. I must say, though, that EVERYONE has to experience a Maid Cafe. It's out-of-this-world bizarre!
