I think episode 26 was the best ep yet. But now we ran into another bit of trouble. The subber seems to have missed eps 27 and 28 Doh! Did someone record those eps? Please contact tiger457 on D-Addicts if you can help. Thanks!

They're showing it here locally with English subs but they screwed up as well so they went back and showed ep 27 this previous weekend and they're showing episode 28 next weekend. So hopefully they'll show up wherever tiger457 lives and he/she will be able to download them.

Btw, IMHO this is the best taiga since 'Furrin Kazan'. Applaud

(It's been a loooooooooooonnggg dry spell)

These episodes, 26, 27, 28, & 29, the Siege of Aizu Wakamatsu Castle and its aftermath, were really well done. What is it about lost causes and hopeless situations that appeal to us? Head Scratch

Up thru episode 32. Looks like we might be getting to see more of Odagiri Joe the last third of the taiga.

This is the first time I've seen Tanimura Mitsuki as a sympathetic character. Usually she's cast as the resident bitch. Nice to see her as something different.

Up thru episode 37 which was interesting. First you had Jo introducing Yae to western ways, (a real bed, etc.) the Kumamoto students being more hard core religious and creating division in the school. They feel that the other students don't have as much "faith" as they do. Kind of like today's far-right Christian conservatives. And the samurai upset because their swords had been taken away (Meiji version of gun control). The more things change, , ,

Episode 38 the Satsuma Rebellion. What they had was good, they just didn't have enough. It should have taken at least two episodes to cover everything that happened and they wrapped it up in about 45 minutes and then we're back to Odagiri Joe starting up his schools. Which for me is the least interesting part of this taiga so far.

Coming down the stretch, thru episode 47 here, although the drama has already ended in Japan.

Found another good blog that provided a recap of all the episodes: http://cmhy.wordpress.com/yae-no-sakura/
