Abe Hiroshi [阿部寛]
I've only seen him in HERO, and in that series he was very funny. His facial expressions were hilarious. Hai, Papa dechi yo~! ^^;
Kimura Takuya [木村拓哉]
Every drama I've seen starring this guy has been a hit for me! Unbelievable! EASILY my fave Japanese drama actor.
Kimura Yoshino [木村佳乃]
Just saw her in Stewardess Keiji 9... and she's the cutest one among the starring cast! She's also great in Koi ni Ochitara and has the wonderful chemistry with the character Ryuta in the series.
Matsu Takako [松たか子]
Talented! Oh so talented! Sings, does theater, plays the piano, acting ~_^! Her dramas with Kimura Takuya are some of my most favorite classics!!

Densha Otoko [電車男]
Rating: 9/10
Currently watching. Funny drama but the gags can get annoying in a hurry. "Otakus" (that is geekiness of any kind) may find this enjoyable immediately because of the main character's lifestyle of anime, manga, video games, and the internet. =P I like Misaki Itoh, but her acting is lacking so far. I really liked this drama at first, but the main character really annoys me. His cowardness is just so overexagerrated beyond my belief to the point that I want to stop watching. The gags are getting corny too with the "forum buddies" in that they're something you're more likely to see in an anime. It's sentai show-cheesiness. After eps 5 the story is picking up and the supporting charas are wonderful and very funny! rating from 7 to a 9 now. =) It's too enjoyable, despite extreme corniness here and there.
Engine [エンジン]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
KimuTaku's character is pretty much the same as he's ever been in recent dramas, and yet he still shines. This drama seems to follow a GTO-ish formula of the main character helping each person in their own unique way but I still am enjoying this drama alot. The kids in this drama are veeeery cute... and the girls (Erika Toda!) are definitely CUTE ~_^ Recommended watch for those who aren't yet tired of the usual cool Kimutaku or the GTO-story-formula.
GTO [麻辣教師]
Rating: 10/10
An absolutely great drama! This was the first japanese drama i'd ever completed watching. Just about every episode is hilarious as it is emotionally touching. The most teary-eyed moments for me were the episodes with Tomoko-chan. Better than the anime! The manga is the best adaptation imo, but this version did a commendable job of changing the story without ruining it. Thanks to this drama, I find it hard to see Sorimachi as anyone else other than Onizuka himself. He even has the exagerrated facial expressions! A classic.
Koi ni Ochitara ~Boku no Seikou no Himitsu~ [恋におちたら〜僕の成功の秘密〜]
Rating: 9/10
This my first Tsuyoshi drama. I've only watched the first episode and I thought it was amazing! The visual direction of scenes feels gimmicky and maybe annoying to some ppl but I like it! It's kind of interesting to see in a drama. The characters are great and Kimura Yoshino's acting was great. The guy that plays Takayanagi is the best actor in this series.
Long vacation [ロングバケーション]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
La la la laaa Looove Sooong~! Probably my most favorite drama I've ever seen. Incredible cast all virtually in the beginning stages of their acting career. The characters are what really hit this drama out the park for me. They have great chemistry with one another, and there's really no "villain". Minami starts off really annoying but so charming that you can't really hate her. The intro is very nice; it reminds me of like a Japanese-version of "Friends" and the theme song is one of the catchiest I've ever heard for a drama. Truly an entertaining classic love story with a little bit of everything.
Shinsengumi [新撰組]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Great history drama, although the length caused me to lose interest at times. Wonderful cast that allowed a bit of humor but none too distracting. The story follows one interpretation of the Shinsengumi history, which just as well serves as a good history lesson of the times leading up to the Meiji Restoration, granted in a pro-Shinsengumi point of view. Nevertheless, a very entertaining drama!
Slow Dance [スローダンス]
Rating: 9/10
Currently watching so I'll change my rating as I watch more accordingly. I'm giving it a '9' with my bias curve cuz I seriously do love it. Realistically in general perhaps it deserves an 8. Why? Because basically this type of story seems like another Long Vacation-clone, something I haven't got tired of yet, just like how I still like KimuTaku's "cool" charas. There's a Senna, a Ryoko, a Momo, a Minami... Those who watched it can guess who's who. It even brings back the will they or won't they young guyXolder woman love story. instead of piano, it's filmmaking. But the strong cast won me over. If it becomes TOO predictable and dare I say cheesy, I will drop the rating with ease. This really oughta be an 8, but I really did like the first episode! Eri is actually alooot better than Ryoko in this one.
