I got my eyes on this series a month before it aired. Well, who wouldn't? Just by seeing the title, I was eagerly waiting to watch it. But now I guess, the series wasn't that complicated compared to it's title. Miki was even lucky to have the guy acknowledged the baby and have her parents stand by her decisions. But usually, now a days, it doesn't just go like that. I guess, reality is still harsh. Even the school.. I doubt that they will do something like that in real life. It was a little bit dark at first but it gets better after every episode. Somehow you become curious and interested as to why Yui died and why she made such a group. I was looking forward as to what case they will be solving in the next episode. There’s so many emotions you can feel just by watching it: pity of course is one, sorrow, disliking, grief, amusement, disgust and most of all relief after seeing the ending. I could've give it a 9 but with the tons of twist, it gradually made me less interested. The very last twist ruined it all for me. I guess if that last twist didn't happen then it could have been a big challenge for Shingo's character. I would definitely prefer to see Eiji fight back in order to protect Shizuku, too bad it didn't happen. I must say that I am satisfied with it’s ending. If it turned out differently I would’ve given this a lower rating than 9. I was empress as to how they made Asakura’s character, he was not just a puppet prime minister but he really did his best in being one. My favorite episode was definitely the Beverly Hills Donuts/Bingham episode (ep5). A nice family drama with a different situation from what we all gotten used to of Tamura Masakazu’s family oriented series. Otousan or should I say Papa is so nice here, always singing, smiling and reminiscing his experiences with Mama plus being the “stay-at-home-dad”. And, instead of him being feared by the children, now it’s the mother. He’s the one doing the begging and stuff so Mama will forgive the faults and mistakes of their children. I had a nice time watching this especially when Pinko-san showed up. I'm really a sucker when it comes to family dramas. |

I thought that this will be a dark drama but the atmosphere wasn’t that dark at all. I've been just deceived by the black screen at the start of each episode. The first episode was interesting especially when they did that experiment as to how the suspect did the crime, skipped ep2 was more like an episode of Trick, ep3-8 was also good, ep9-10, I thought that the crime would even be harder to decode but it wasn’t. This is one of those inspirational high school themed series wherein students make a sports club that was not or did not exist in their school. But it became bittersweet towards the end and I felt so sorry for Etsune after putting in so much effort. I just can't help but to compare it to the first season, especially now that Ito Misaki is the one portraying Shima instead of Konishi Manami. I really felt that the presence of Shima, portrayed by Konishi, was the one missing in this series which was more like a mother-like figure. And so, I felt like Nanami lost a mother and Enzo gained another sister. |

For the story, I gave it an average of 8. Since it’s renzoku, meaning an episode can stand on its own, I gave each episode a different rating. Additional point for the humor, which will be pretty much appreciated if you really understand Japanese. All in all it was a funny and interesting series eventhough you might already know the suspect the moment the case is being introduced. This series was shown in 2002 and I’ve watched it in 2006. Look how most of the cast has already starred in their own dramas and already made it big since then. I’m so happy that I’ve got to watch it. It’s funny, heartwarming and most of all the food looks so delicious. I was really looking forward to the next dish that they will feature. I'm a fan of the anime series so of course I'll watch the this one. Much to my disappointment. I like both Oguri and Tomokawa for their respective roles especially Jinnai Takanori who really fit the role of Mori Kogore. But the only letdown was the case. It was so plain and simple. I easily spotted the killer the moment it appeared.

This is one of those live-action series which is definitely a must see. You will definitely love the tandem of Ueno Juri and Tamaki Hiroshi. Ueno is very funny and lovable as Nodame. As for Chiaki, it’s been a while since I’ve watched Tamaki in a comedy, or should I say, done a comedy since “Waterboys: The Movie” but he’s still as funny as ever. Added laughs from Eita & Kaede Kosuke (both from Waterboys Season 1&2 respectively). And you will definitely be mesmerized by the musical pieces that they feature every episode. |

I did not expect too much from it but honestly I was interested. It was getting used to at first with some heartwarming and emotional scenes in the first 3-4 episodes. But then, after finishing the series, you start to miss everyone. That’s why, I was lucky enough to have watched it up to the Special.

But then, when they’re about to start filming, conflicts starts pouring in on Kyoko’s character. So, instead of us seeing the whole drama process, which I was really excited about, it was cut off since that was not really the main plot. And what’s worse, when they’re about to start making a drama again, it all ends there. The very first serious police drama for me. Though it has some funny scenes as well, this is really as serious as it gets. I must say that I’m impressed with the fight scenes, well choreographed compared to the other dramas I’ve watched so far. And for me the highlight of the series aside from the last story is of course Story II: The Hospital Siege. The director really did a great job here. Hope to see the movie! |  Stand UP!!

This was really a nice love story but I just didn't like the pairing of Kame & Ayase. Acting wise, Ayase deserved a better lead actor. There wasn't really a chemistry between them, it felt like they just acted out their own roles. I can't seem to feel that connection. I really like Misaki Ito when she does comedies like this. I think FujiTv’s brand of comedy fits my taste perfectly. I thought at first that it will not be suited for me because of it’s title but it wasn’t at all. Well, I guess it depends on one’s perspective. For the story, I give it an 7 and +1 for the setting, since I come from a country with no winter season. About the fated reunion, since it's father and son, and not the usual father and daughter or mother and son, their reuniting scene was not too emotional. I was not really surprise. Master's misunderstandings of Taku was already answered as the episodes went on so it was not that hard for him when they finally saw each other. But not on Taku's case though. |

Overall, I give it a 7.5. Their acting may seem lame or exaggerated at first but once you get used to it then you become interested. For me, it was around episode 8 that I really started to like this series. Kaga Takeshi was really hilarious on that episode. I guess, patience is a virtue, you just got to have the hang of it, so you can finish the entire series. But I must say that the story gets better after each episode (except ep5) and it was ended nicely.
