This was nothing like the manga... the story was lacking in parts and the drama was absolutely insane (I freaked whenever Tomoko tried to eat cake or whenever the inspector smiled). That alone was good for a few laughs and the Mr. Children soundtrack was good. The story was the worst part - it got downright cheesy at times! | Gachi Baka ! [ガチバカ !]

Embarrassingly stupid man stuck in a cliche role. The NewS boys were the only thing that kept me watching to see what the heck they were going to do. Mediocre at best, downright dull in its clicheness at worst. Reminds me too much of GTO. |

I actually have the shitty seinen manga that spawned this series - I'm not sure what made me dl this as I absolutely loathe that pathetic excuse for a manga (I must say it has some of the worst art and storyline EVER - the mangaka can only draw naked girls' bodies decently well). The drama was much more tasteful and the story was different. It had humor and even though Kyoko Fukada's Kurumi was sometimes irritating, she did make up for that with her good acting. Koichi Domoto was also good and actually looked like Himuro, which shocked me. The best part by far were the supporting actors/actresses and the humor they evoked. Hiroshi Tamaki's Shingo was the BEST. He personified the Shingo of the manga and thensome. He's always been a fun actor with a very animated style ever since Waterboys and he just keeps improving. | Yoshitsune [義経]

Good historical drama.... a bit boring and Hideaki Takizawa sometimes stretched the believability of his role too far (he just doesn't look all that much like a warrior sometimes - the first episode seems to hammer this fact home). Still, he does make up for it later. |
