Celeb to Binbo Taro [セレブと貧乏太郎] All I can say is WTF?! (Read full review) [Rating: 6/10] Okay, heres the thing. This drama is great! Really. But only up to Ep 9. The drama is full of comedy with sparks of romance. Aya's performance is great in portraying a spoiled rich girl, while Kajimi did an okay job in playing a loud (and annoying) poor single father. Everything in the plot is going well for the first 9 episodes, then in the last 2 eps, everything just went out of wack. Seriously. Its as if the producers had spend too much money in getting Aya's outfit that they had to fire their original script writing crew and got another cheap lazy crew to come up with some crappy story to fill the last 2 eps. Not only is it bad, its as if the new story crew tried to fit in ideas from other dramas to make a 'dramatic' ending. I just finished watching the drama, and was very fustrated at how they decided to end the series. It simply did not make ANY sense. Let me repeat: IT DID NOT MAKE ANY SENSE!
For all those looking into watching this series, take my suggestion: Ep 1-9 is great, go ahead and watch. I'd give a solid 8.5/10 for it. But for the last 2 eps, just simply ignore or take it as a spin off or smth. Never had I've seen such a dramatic change in story style and plot in a japanese drama EVER. Lastly, I just wished they could have done better in making a fitting ending to the story. | Ichi Ritoru no Namida [1リットルの涙] Beautiful... just beautiful... [Rating: 10/10] Definitely.. definitely in my top 3 best drama list (i've watched over 20 dramas). The story, the acting, the way the drama is shot, and just the plain idea of "living" has taken the audience for a life-inspiring ride and back. I speak from the heart, i have not cried like this in the past 8 years. I've never felt such a cleansing and such a strong desire to just 'live' in my life before watching this. I highly recommend "Ichi ritoru no namida" to anyone and everyone!! |
Ryokiteki na Kanojo [猟奇的な彼女] Great for first-timers, okay for fanatics [Rating: 8/10] I've watched the original Korean movie several times, and I must say that that is one of my all time favs movies. This drama captures many details from the movie, and expanded on some aspects to make it last 11 eps. Granted this drama is made under the same name and idea, but there are some parts where i dont like. Some parts, in particular, reminded me of Boku dake no Madonna, and that sort of turn me away. This drama is still good by itself, filled with laughter and tears. But if you are a fanatic about the original movie, this *might* dissapoint you. If you've never watch the original, this is a great drama to go with. | | |
