Hana Yori Dango [花より男子] HYD has great acting, a timeless romance, beautiful filming and sets, plus a dash of humor. Oh -- and of course, Matsujun.
Hana Yori Dango Season 2 [花より男子] Hana Yori Dango Returns has all the brilliant acting, top-notch production, and lovable characters from the first season. That alone makes it one of the top dramas of all times, even if the script is a bit weak at times. Definitely a must-watch though! There's something for everyone - plenty of eye candy, romance, laughter, and even some angst thrown in.
Nodame Cantabile [のだめ カンタビ−レ] This is quite possibly the best romantic comedy of all time. Nodame Cantabile should be listed in thesauruses everywhere under "awesome". Not only is the music brilliant, the plot, script, filming, costumes, special effects, etc. are all excellent. And I dare you to watch this drama without falling in love with the eye-rolling (and uber-hot) Chiaki, or the insanely adorable (GYABO!) Nodame. Or both. Or all the characters in this drama.

Inoue Mao [井上真央] Besides being incredibly cute, she has the rare talent of being an excellent actress without ever seeming fake or insincere.
Matsumoto Jun [松本潤] Gorgeous looks and numerous other talents aside, Matsujun the actor is not only talented, but versatile and charismatic. He can pull off complex characters, outrageous hairstyles, and singlehandedly carry even the most farfetched plots.
Tamaki Hiroshi [玉木宏] He defines hotness. No, really. Just look at him. (Most unusually, he's also quite a good actor.) I loved him as Chiaki Shinichi.
Ueno Juri [上野樹里] She's naturally cute, and can be ditzy without seeming irritatingly stupid. I haven't seen enough of her work to judge her overall acting ability, but she was great as Nodame. And that's enough for me.
