April 2008...I finally watched my 1st Kinpachi Sensei drama and I was completely fooled...I've always shied away from these series because I had always thought that they would be wishy washy and not be really realistic...I was so wrong!!!....This series brought me on a emotional high and a sense of fullfillment in terms of entertainment.......Through all the sadness and joy was the meaning of life...... The cast was spectacular...even the Kinpachi Sensei charaacter...who knows it all had human weakness aand therefore likeable...I gave this series a big 10!!!!!! |

A little bad..Not great!...Thought the only highlight of this series was the music of Oda Kazumasa...and the cuteness of Mao....Not much going on after that....The ratings in Japan were pretty bad...and I can see why! Not great were the brother, the two roommates and the photographer boss...they should of concentrated more on the relationship between Mio and the young docter and developed more of a romantic love story between those two....the brother angle was way over blown and didn't work... Also if the brother was to be a member of the cast, they should of kept him overweight in his adult life..It's too bad because Mao needed a better story line for her to succeed.. |

Good Drama!!! Addresses issue of bullying in Japan's schools. Last year there were a series of suicides connected with bullying among students in Japan and this is in response to that current issue. In 2006 there were 608 suicides of Japanese under the age of 20...71 of those were known to be connected with bullying...they think that this number is low....
Kanno Miho does a good job as a lawyer who tries to discloses that there is "bullying" at her daughter's mid-school...This drama plus the drama LIFE will probably represent the type of future dramas
addressing the issue of bullying unlike some high school dramas of the past which depicts the bullies as heroes.... |
