Blackjack ni Yoroshiku [ブラックジャックによろしく]
New Japanese Doctors - are they really ready? [Rating: 6/10]
This drama is about a new doctor fresh from med school and we see the good, bad, and ugly of the Japanese hospital system. Of course a lot of things rotate around money. The main character has to work part-time at night to make some cash but he just loses it. From there he has to figure out what it is to be a doctor. The shows pretty slow and the stories are pretty boring but if you like the actor and actress it is somewhat viewable.
Dr. Koto Shinryojo [Dr.コトー診療所]
Nice Drama [Rating: 8/10]
Dr. Koto is a kind hearted doctor who's goodness supercedes his ambitions. In a day and age when most of the young adults move on to the city or larger towns, small village doctors are needed especially in remote islands. The main character is a well known actor famous from Kita no Kuni Kara and he looks the same. Definitely not a drama for those seeking trendy love dramas since this is for an older crowd who likes stories about family and old folks.
Ginza No Koi
Check it out! [Rating: 9/10]
This is one of the unsuspecting drama that is pretty fun to watch. Turtoise lives in Ginza (usually gotta be filthy rich to have property there) living in his apartment attached to his Grandma who's pretty controlling and nosy. He likes his best friend but she's dating his Senpai (Santa Maria). One of his coworkers likes him but he doesn't get the message while his granny is also trying to get him married. Its light hearted and Turtoises theme song always kicks in.
Koi no Chikara [恋ノチカラ]
Good drama [Rating: 9/10]
This drama has a lot of good actors in it and was fun to watch. The opening theme is great and the love story isn't heavy but nice.
Koufuku no Ouji [幸福の王子]
Pretty Crazy, I just don't know.. [Rating: 9/10]
The first episode is just nuts if you can get through the whole episode. After that the story unfolds itself and everything in the first episode makes sense. If you like these actors you'll figure they all acted crazy, boke, or maybe had amnesia once or more in other dramas so their characters in the show ain't that bad. I think anyone who experienced what happened to Shuhei would get premature grey (white hair) but other than the writers went a little overboard into the crazy territory.
Kowloon de Aimashou [九龍で会いましょう]
Not that bad [Rating: 8/10]
This love triangle drama with everyone having love and work problems including the supporting cast all works up into a big heartbreakin mess but its interesting.
Let's Go Nagata-cho
Ok Drama [Rating: 7/10]
The theme song by Da Pump is cool with Issa playing a role and acting ok. Pretty typical political comedy drama with money scandal but the actors are pretty good with the balding "hage" dude playing the lead politician and the old UFO comedian Ishibashi. They keep saying Soori or prime minister its funny since it may kinda sound like sorry in japlish.
Moto Kare [元カレ]
I liked it! [Rating: 8/10]
After watching a lot of "cr@p" shows out there this one is not that bad. Almost all Jdramas and Japanese shows go according to routine themes and this one does again but its kind of fun if you like the actors. I like the Kinki Kid actor and Ryoko Hirosue seems to look a lot better grown up. The main character is a typical Japanese guy who's pretty stupid, we just want him to make up his mind, but he's playing that role. The elevator girl just isn't his type and he's too dense to avoid being manipulated but it plays into the show. Of course it ends happily.
Water Boys [ウォーターボーイズ]
Fun show [Rating: 8/10]
Its a great teen drama and feel good show for those who don't give up. All the boys went up to a lodge with boarding to get trained on their "synchro" routines for the show. Theres not much "synchro" in the show except the final episode but their hard work getting there in the show and real life pays off with a lot of hoopla.
