Gokusen [ごくせん] Gokusen was one of the best dramas I've ever watched! The acting was brilliant, and the characters were characterized impeccably; you'd fall in love with them very easily. There were morals which were wonderfully shown - just enough for you to actually heed it, but not so much so that it's preachy. I think I cried in almost every episode of this drama. Matsumoto Jun SHINED as Sawada, and of course Yukie was absolutely BRILLIANT as Yankumi. Wonderful, wonderful drama. A must for everyone! | Hana Yori Dango [花より男子] For sure, Hana Yori Dango outshone its sequel. The character, although played by the same people, were more in tact, I think, and were developed more. Mao was funny, cute and spunky - just like her character should be. Matsujun portrayed the bratty rich kid awesomely (if there is such a word), and Oguri Shun was impeccable as Hanazawa Rui. The cast was brilliant, as well as the script, the plot and the overall feel of the movie. It was lovey dovey, but not to the point of being overwhelmingly cheesy, and not to the point of sugar coating for sure. :) | Hanazakari no Kimitachi e [花ざかりの君たちへ] Hana Kimi was one of the funniest dramas I've ever watched. It both embodied the manga and made it its own (although some of the provisions made, I admit, did not really enthuse me) to make it work for the medium used (ie - television). It was funny without sacrificing the drama. :) |
