Somewhat funny, very interesting idea... but most of the time it seemed just dull to me.

I found about this drama by chance and was happy to find it. This should definitely be seen by more people. It's scary (for a drama) and messed up and awkwardly touching and sometimes weirdly hilarious. It's one of these really unusual dramas you don't come by so often. What I really liked was that there were some really random side stories that seemed to have to do with the main story, so that I as the viewer had no idea what to think at times.

Great until the 8th episode or so. The tension was there and the plot twist was awesome. Unfortunately, it was revealed too early and the last episodes were just a slightly draggy melodrama. Katori Shingo seemed a bit stiff and at times not convincing but I still loved his role, Takeuchi Yuko was good as always and the girl playing Shizuku was awfully cute. Well, I'd recommend it, especially if you love twists (as I certainly do)

Binbo Danshi [貧乏男子 (ボンビーメン)]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
I often read before that people who usually like Oguri Shun, disliked him in Binbou Danshi. Funnily, this drama finally convinced me of his talent and I started really liking him. It's amazing how many different roles he can pull of. Well, apart from that... I'm not sure why but I incredibly loved Binbou Danshi. I loved the characters, the humour and the storyline.

At times I thought everyone was trying too hard to make it look cool, so at times I found it hard to take serious. I did love the cast and the characters' funnier moments though and I have a soft spot for detective dramas in general, so it's still an 8 for me.

Byakuyakou [白夜行]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Very dark. Very depressing. I love it. xD I admit that the plot seems pretty far-fetched at times. There are just too many, too horrible things going on. What makes up for it are the characters though. Both main characters do cruel, unbelievable things to cover up for each other but to me they seemed believable. The acting was great also and it's maybe due to that. This is definitely nothing for those who want something happy. It's for those who don't mind really depressing storylines and immoral characters (immoral characters with a reason but I know there are people who would still feel put off).
Call Center no Koibito [コールセンターの恋人]

I'm not sure why but I really liked it. The characters were loveable and overall it was really hilarious and sometimes touching. Nice to watch when one's too tired to watch heavy stuff.

Very interesting. It's basically the less scary version of a horror movie made into a drama. I'm not that fond of horror actually and I didn't really like the ending that much, but I enjoyed the episodes and thought it was nice to see such an unusual drama.

I'm starting to really hate dramas with teachers or senpais who try to reform their students/kouhais. Let's face it: It's unlikely that hosts start their jobs to make their female customers happy. The whole business just isn't like that. No, the world isn't like that. Okay, dramas aren't about realism but in this case I just found it too much. Well, apart from that... The drama is nice for the eye-candy.

Gokusen is getting old, really. It's the third season and it follow exactly the same pattern as the two before did. The thing is, I loved the hilarious scenes of the students, so I ended up watching it just for the beginning and the end of each episode. For the middle parts I skipped most scenes.

I read comments before about how it's not scary although it claims to be. Sure, this isn't a horror like the ring saga but rather a drama about classical Japanese horror stories. They're pretty much like Western fairy tales and some of them are pretty well-known (Yuki Onna for example). So... Nothing really new, just the stuff that worked for centuries. I love kaidan anyway, so this certainly worked for me. Plus, as a bonus I got loads of actors I happen to like. Heh xD

Again a book that was made into both a drama and a movie. Again, the movie version is much better. Nakatani Miki portraying Matsuko was touching and I really felt for her, Uchiyama Rina portraying Matsuko made me think that someone as stupid as her didn't deserve better. Some things were different from the movie version (I don't know which is closer to the book though) and generally, although the drama was made to look more depressing (I mean... unlike the movie it wasn't a musical), it was by far not as cruel as the movie. So, interesting storyline, unusual for a drama but it could've been better.

I just love this drama! Out of all the dramas of Kudo Kankuro, this is definitely my favourite. When I watched it for the first time, I just laughed my way through it. The characters are just so weird and sometimes random, you just cannot not love them! By now I watched it five ior six times and while I still think that it's fun to watch, I also realized that behind all the craziness there's realness. It's not your average no brain comedy but in my eyes at least a piece of genius.

The problem probably was that I watched the Korean version first. While the storyline is interesting, there are major plot holes. For example, just HOW did the lawyer place false afterimages on objects? There was nothing said about him having special powers. Also, some events happen too smoothly. You just get some odd facts and no explanation. This isn't the fault of the Japanese as they've just taken the original and shortened it. Of course, I saw those problems with the Korean one, too but I didn't really mind because there's the major difference between both dramas: The Japanese placed the actual story the centre, the Koreans the characters. I loved and hated and was scared of the Korean lawyer. I really felt for the cop. Their Japanese equivalents seemed shallow to me and I didn't really mind them. The Japanese cop was immature and I really wondered how someone like him was able to rise his position while the Japanese lawyer really didn't seem capable of revenge. (Now, I could of course rant about how I hate that they choose actors for their popularity instead of their talent but I won't.) What bothered me most though was what they made of the girl who read the afterimages. In the Korean version her character was more important and stood between the lawyer and the cop (while I usually hate love triangles I preferred that version). Thanks to her there was a balance. Also, while the Japanese was just naive, the Korean was down-to-earth and strong. I remember how the Japanese got scared of the lawyer when she found out about his real motives while the Korean accepted him. So, yeah... maybe I'm just a sucker for love stories but there are also others things I preferred. It's maybe because the Korean version was twice as long. They had the time to flesh out their characters... and that they did well!

The drama is fun! A lot of fun. I think the reason why I love it so much is that I spent too much time watching things like Meitantei Conan and other murder mystery stuff. There are just so much clichés, it was about time someone made fun of them.

This was one of the very first dramas I watched and when I watched it for the first time I loved it. After watching more dramas I wasn't so sure anymore whether this drama really was that good (school dramas tend to be shallow, the storyline is ridiculous at time, I know that at least Yamapi isn't exactly a good actor,...), so I rewatched it and I still liked it a lot. The drama portrays a makeover no only of Nobuta but of Shuji and Akira, too. The three of them don't really get along with others. In a way they're defective personalities who learn to know the value of friendship. Good stuff. :D

Very interesting idea. l loved how they tried to show the different reactions people have when they're confronted with power. Also, I love the idea that it's God's Hand who turns people insane, not the Devil's. For this alone I'd give 10/10. Now, the reason why I gave 8/10 points instead. This type of drama (like Maou, Majo Saiban, Bloody Monday) has a tendency to be exaggerated. At first I'm always excited just to be annoyed in the end. Also, I couldn't help but wonder how much better it could've been with a different cast. Let's face it: Takizawa Hideaki and Nishikido Ryo weren't chosen because of their acting talent but because of their agency. It's about ratings, not talent. I mean, it's always like that and in most cases I can live with it but here I just hated what they made of a great idea.

Interesting topic, acting was sometimes a bit off, Engrish..., at some points I wasn't sure whether the spectator was supposed to take the whole thing serious (the character Joy was hilarious actually. I mean, the man ironed his money!)... By the way, it's not set in Thailand but in a fictional Southeast Asian state (forgot the name). The book also isn't set in Thailand but Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I think it was filmed in Thailand though.

I didn't really expect anything when I started watching this drama. It was one of the first ones I watched so I knew none of the actors. The first episode was just too random and I had no idea were this was going. I guess what kept me watching were both boredom and the cliffhanger music at the end of each episode. Usually, I ditch dramas easily, so I'm glad that I kept on watching it. It just got better with each episode. There were some plotholes but the characters made up for it. The ending was tragic but so was the story. Thinking about it, the slow start also was part of what I like about it. At first there doesn't seem to be a plot, just random scenes that are only connected by the characters. Maybe I'm slow for not seeing the end happen beforehand but to me it came really unexpected. No idea how often I watched the drama by now. It's definitely one of my all-time favourites.

This just can't compete against the movie. I'm not too fond of medical dramas and long preaching monologues, so this was a bit draggy at times. It might've been more interesting if I hadn't watched the movie before (apart from the twist at the very end I had it more or less figzred out) though, so what kept me interested in the drama were the differences to the movie. Also, the scenes with "Gucchi" and Shiratori were hilarious.

The Quiz Show [ザ・クイズショウ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
I really really highly recommend this drama. The concept is both interesting and unusual. At first, little of it makes sense and it seems episodical. With each episode one starts to see the connection though. I prefer this season to the second one, especially because it was slightly minimalistic and obviously not meant to fit everyone's taste. Also, I like that they chose a theme song that fit instead of a song that probably came with the deal of hiring two members of Johnny's Entertainment.
The Quiz Show Season 2 [ザ・クイズショウ 2]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
What I personally didn't like about The Quiz Show 2 was the mass of additional characters. To me they just seemed like fillers. Sure, the episodes are longer but I preferred the minimalistic first season. Also, knowing the first season, some of the surprise was taken already. Still, the concept is interesting and unusual, so I would recommend it to everyone. What I found interesting was that The Quiz Show seemed to have been a surprise hit because the second season obviously had a higher budget.
