from my limited knowledge on the japanese writing system...

katakana characters represent the words that are foreign, converted over to Japanese....for example...someone's name...like michelle, or john written in Japanese, used in Katakana characters...there is 48 in all, i believe. and 48 hirgana...
Hiragana characters are japanese originated words, like yumiko, tsunku, names etc......and those are represented by the more curvier characters thus, hiragana characters.

what is tricky, is that some japanese originated names, like yuko, akiko, and other j-words, sometimes use kanji, and this is difficult to write out as a beginner learning Japanese.

for simplicity, i believe your favorite japanese girl, might use hiragana, or the more complex looking characters, written in kanji. Katakana characters look more straigher, than hiragana, but more simplier than kanji. i hope that helps a little.

on topic, any luck so far finding info/pictures on her?

I knew if q-san had posted here, there must be pics of a kawaii j-girl in the thread Smile

About the hiragana/katakana thing...... I noticed that Erika Sawajiri writes her name (Erika) in Japanese in katakana.... I wonder why? Wouldn't that be a name you would type in hiragana?

lol...it's where the kawaii-girls are at Yes!
hehe

Erika's name....isn't that an american type name....therefore, written in katakana characters....unlike say....Yumiko, Aya....
but unlikely you would see her name written in kanji....that is my thoughts on it.

matsuda would write it in either kanji or hiragana.. Bonk

You could be right. I thought it was Japanese, for some reason. My youngest is called Naomi, which I found out much later is a Japanese name as well as Hebrew/biblical.... odd.

for Matsuda, it might be difficult, since i am not sure how accessible she is, in terms of updated information, and pictures/videos

for now, let's keep this thread up, and post in it.

I have a couple of girls from Live-action Sailormoon, that i woud like to start individual threads, problem is, it could very easily just fit in under the Sailor Moon Live Action thread in Discussion on J-dramas, under the name...Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon

i agree with you, information about her is hard to find, especially for updates.
i hope 2007 will be a big year for her.

oh i see, yeah i'm sure it would be locked up

this thread? nah..i doubt it...
its all good, unless we start flaming one another with bad posts, and post obscene picture of nude girls, but let's get real...
it's all about Matsuda, not necessarily about gravure models...
but of course that would be nice too....j/k

what have you found recently on your favorite girl?

LOL, what a awesome idea you had there.
ya totally all about Matsuda, i wonder if thats what would get this thing started, but i doubt she has done any.

i really can't make what she says on her blog since the translation make no sense at all, although some lines make sense....i'll re read them again
