Kirakira Hikaru is one of my all-time favorites, and shows Eri at her cutest best. Liked Tenki Yoho no Koibito too, too bad she was in such a Janeane Garofalo-type role.

I like her too!

Kinda slow in noticing her actually... Sweat The first dorama of hers I've seen "Wakamono no Subete". I didn't really take notice of Eri until the time I saw her acting as Dojima Yuko in "Sorakara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi". I was like "Wow, her acting amazed me..." and I started liking her then. I've watched her other doramas like "Narita Rikkon", "Kira Kira Hikaru" and "Suekko Chounan Ane San-nin" too~ Too bad I've only seen her in the movie version of Odoru... Gotta get my hands on the dorama version soon~

A good actress I must say! Applaud

3Peace...

Eri is one of my fav japanese actress. She's so cute. First, I watched 'White love story' and I just thought 'wow she's very cute' and then 'Power of love' and 'One biilion star falling from the sky'. She's such a great actress.

Eri Fukatsu is also one of my favorite female actresses. I've only seen her in recent dramas such as 'Suekko Chounan Ane San Nin' and 'Slow Dance'. She's got this great, distinctive charm and quirkiness that always puts a smile on my face when watching her. Smile

She was great in Bayside Shakedown. She complemented Yuji Oda's Aoshima well.

As I said in another thread, Eri is the pip.

Since I just finished watching "Slow Dance" I of course went into the data base to see what else of her's is out there, because I want to see more, and I was surprized to see how many of her dramas I've actually seen!

Slow Dance

Kawa Itsuka Umi e A River Flows Down...

Suekko chounan ane san nin Eldest Son and 3 elder sisters

Sora Kara Furu One Million Stars...

Tanki yoho no Koibito The Weather Forcasters Lover

Narita Rikon Narita Divorce

Odoru DAisousassen Rhythm & Police (and all the movies and specials)

Saikou no Kataomoi White Love Story

I've enjoyed every single one of them, and I have the feeling that I've barely scratched the surface.

I haven't seen "Koi no Chikara" but I've seen "Slow Dance" and it is excellent - she is a struggling career woman, over thirty, thinking about marriage, and watching people around her and considering how they deal witih life. Fukatsu Eri is an excellent actress. Also great in "Million Stars"...!

Eri-chan recently appeared in a play, Aware Kanojo wa Shofu, with Mikami Hiroshi and Shosuke Tanihara in July. It is the Japanese version of a play 'Tis A Pity She's A ***** by John Ford. She starred as Anabella, Hiroshi as Giovanni, and Shosuke Soranazo.

It is a rather warped tragedy about a sister, Anabella, and brother, Giovanni, involved in an incestuous relationship initiated by Giovanni who lusted for her and lied that the relationship was permissible. Although Anabella has several suitors, including Soranazo, she and Giovanni consummate their relationship which eventually results in Anabella's pregnancy. Anabella marries Soranazo, who loves her, to try conceal this incest but he eventually realises the truth of the matter and wants her put to death. The events then take on a macabre, grim ending.

wow that's quite a tragedy but sounds great.

i like her in her serious roles and i also like her in her quirky roles. she's not the typical cutesy girl but i find her very lovable. somehow, drinking a cup of beer really suits her. great actress, really. she needs more recognition

Haha yeah I totally agree! Talking about that, Eri's in a winter CM for Sapporo Beer: http://www.sapporobeer.jp/fuyu/

I'm watching Koi no Chikara for the third time now, and I think that the drama is well suited for the year end. It has a warm, cheery, and fuzzy feel to it that's addictive. And it's probably because Yada Akiko, Tsutsumi Shinichi and Nishimura Masahiko had previously starred together in Yamato Nadeshiko, and also due to Eri's acquaintance with Tsutsumi which results in the great onscreen chemistry among the cast.

Eri Fukatsu takes Best Actress in Montreal
Tue, September 7, 2010 (2:20am EDT)
On Monday in Montreal, actress Eri Fukatsu was awarded Best Actress at the 34th Montreal World Film Festival. She received the prize for her role in Sang-il Lee's "Akunin," which stars her and actor Satoshi Tsumabuki.

Fukatsu is the first Japanese to win Best Actress at the festival since Yuko Tanaka took it in 1983 for her performance in "Amagigoe." However, Japanese have won other awards at the festival in recent years, including Yojiro Takita's "Okuribito" in 2008 (Grand prix des Americas) and Kichitaro Negishi's "Viyon no Tsumabuki" in 2009 (Best Director).
