In "VOICE~ Voice of the dead" which starts next January, it depicts the struggle of students belonging to the forensics department in the medical university. It's Ikuta's first time as a regular cast on Monday9, while it's Ishihara's first heroine role in Monday9. Ikuta plays the close friend of the lead role Eita (25) is playing. In classes he's a womaniser and mood maker, but hides his true personality, a difficult role with 2 personalities, but producer Takiyama Madoka explains, "It's a complicated role which combines the light and shadows of Ikuta-san, and has many expressions". Ikuta also says with enthusiasm "I want to make it a meaningful drama which will make people think about the importance of life." Ishihara is a top student full of passion and knowledge. It's her first formal role as an undergraduate, and comments "I look forward to bringing out the campus life. I'm looking forward this too!!! Eita in his first leading role, this is a must see!And having Toma is a huge plus, Satomi's fine i guess.

The title reminds me this english series called Tru Calling where the actress in there hears voices of the dead and started investigating their true reasons. I hope this doesn't really turn out to be like this. I want originality.



And what the hell happened to Eita's HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't tell me he cut it SHORT like that! ah~~ i somehow missed his hairdo in Last Friends, altho that kinda looked awkward at first. His hairdo now makes him looks like a KID! oh and i didn't know satomi's hair is this long already...

short hair actually fits him better, much more that he'll be portraying a student character.. and it really does make him look younger..

oh well, i'll get used to it...like i did back in the nodame and LF days.

but i noticed how he has rough hair structure, not like most of the other guys.it looks hard. but still...

Is it a Japanese version of the CBS-TV series The Ghost Whisperer?

Will definitely give it it a try as it concerns medical....Plus Eita is a good actor..

Story
Kaji Daiki, a fourth year medical student at Tosaka University hopes to join the cardiosurgery course but why does the noticeboard show that his own name has been cancelled, and the forensic science course has his name instead? Daiki immediately heads for the office of the professor for forensic science, Sagawa Fumihiko. He is told by Professor Sawaga, “For the average student, whether they make the grade or not, they’re only interested in their results, but for you, you first start with the question ‘why?’. You are suited for forensic science.” Hearing this, Daiki decides to join the course. One day, the body of a person who died in a mishap is brought in by the police. Daiki and the rest of the students are bothered by the cause of death and head to the scene of the accident …

Eita as Kaji Daiki

A fourth year medical student at Tosaka University. Forensic science course. He failed the entrance exams and had to retake them. At first glance, Daiki looks like a cool, modern day university student but he possesses excellent intuition and perception. When he gets caught up even in trivialities, he must find the answers and won’t be satisfied if he can’t put them into practice. “I don’t know what you’re thinking,” Daiki has been told by those around him all this time, but he thinks that he’s emotionally expressive.

Ikuta Toma as Ishizue Ryosuke

A fourth year medical student at Tosaka University. He failed the entrance exams and had to retake them. Ryosuke is Daiki’s good friend and the live wire of the forensic science course. At social parties, he would unabashedly say, “I’m from the medical faculty …” He has never had a good experience because the girls get carried away with the excitement more than with the advances he makes. He smiles all the time but doesn’t show his true emotions.

Ishihara Satomi as Kuboaki Kanako

A fourth year medical student at Tosaka University. Forensic science course. She cannot accept the reason for the cause of death of her mother who passed on when she was young and this motivates her to pursue forensic science. She is the most knowledgeable and passionate student. Born the eldest daughter in the family, she cannot ignore those who are vulnerable. Honest and possessing a sense of justice, she also tends to fall back on conservative theories. She is hostile towards Daiki who doesn’t rely on historical data.

Watched the first episode over two nights. I was expecting some supernatural elements but it was actually rather ordinary. I thought it was not bad, but nothing special either, in respect to both script and acting.
