They sort of explained that in episode 1. There was an American baseball player named Joe Jackson who got caught cheating. (Actually, for getting paid to lose games.) When he was going to trial, outside the courthouse a little kid said, "Say it ain't so Joe." That's where the "Joe" comes from.

Finished it today in an insane flurry of episodes...
I'd give it a 7.5/10.
Parts of the story were interesting at times and other parts were rather tiring and had me reaching for the fast forward button... I think the drama was several episodes too long.
Also, the four Love Shuffle participants who weren't living on the 28th floor (Mei, Kairi, Yukki, and Reiko) were less developed and rather less interesting for that reason...
EDIT: Also, they played Fantasy and Eternal Flame to death... Doesn't the production staff have access to more music than that???

Review: 8/10
Like with all dramas that are recommended to me specifically, I go in hoping I really enjoy it. And I really enjoyed Love Shuffle.
Ifm already a huge fan of Karinafs, and to a smaller degree of Tamaki Hiroshifs, so the casting was really easy getting into. The chemistry between the four main characters is what makes the show hold for me. I fell in love with Ojiro, I got carried away with Kiku-rin, I wanted to be Ai-Ai, and I wanted to bully Usa-kun. Among the outer circle, I have to admit that Kojima Hijirifs character, Reiko, is my favourite, with Kairi being the most endearing.
The storyline is very interesting, but the plot is very normal. When you get over the initial shock of the gLove Shuffleh concept, the drama falls back on character development. I find the success of the drama, for me, comes from this fallback.
To be sure, there was one nagging element that really bothered me throughout this drama, and that was Shihori-chanfs character, Mei. Why couldnft someone have killed her off?! I have never experienced such a fake, stupid, manipulative, oblvious character in my life. Shefs the reason I rated the drama a 8/10 and not a 9/10 or 10/10.
Other than her, I found the show good. Ifve seen it three times already, so I think itfs safe to say that I highly recommend it. ^_^ _________________

I strongly agree here... She's such a pathetic little flake... I had to really fight off hitting the FF button when her scenes came up.

Though I found the drama rather enjoyable, I can't say I'd watch it again anytime soon...
And I hope to NEVER hear Eternal Flame ever again.

I agree with the Reiko character, but the Kairi character just bugged me to death: she was basically catatonic through the entire drama...
Yeah, that was her character, but I didn't find it endearing one bit.

I think it was more her relationship with Ojiro. I liked the two of them together. I thought they had great chemistry. On her own she's rather boring. _________________
