If you liked Gonzo or a fan of Uchino definitely give this one a look.

Uchino Masaaki’s drama series “Rinjo” gets a movie version

The 2009 drama series “Rinjo” is getting a theatrical movie. Tentatively titled “Rinjo: Gekijoban,” the movie will have Uchino Masaaki reprising the starring role as Kuraishi Yoshio, a police coroner with a keen eye for evidence.

“Rinjo” is an adaptation of a novel by Yokoyama Hideo. The drama series originally aired on TV Asahi from April to June 2009, and a second season aired from April to June 2010. The two seasons garnered ratings of 14.5% and 17.6%, respectively.

Besides Uchino, the returning cast members include Matsushita Yuki, Watanabe Dai, Hirayama Hiroyuki, Masuoka Toru, and Takashima Masanobu.

Hashimoto Hajime is directing. Filming began on Christmas Day and is expected to end in late January. Theatrical release is already scheduled for June 30, 2012.
